Normally I'm up to date with all the latest celebrity news, but this one caught me off guard! i knew they were engaged, but last night as i was watching Kourtney and Khole take Miami, and i read the E! marquee at the bottom of the page, it completely shocked me ! i was happy for her! congrats!]

Looks like "Cinderella Story's" Hilary Duff lived out her own fairytale this weekend, when she tied the knot in an intimate (but tres romantic!) ceremony with beau, 29-year-old Canadian hockey player Mike Comrie in Montecito, California.

According to US Weekly, Hilary (who btw is only 22!), rocked a strapless Vera Wang gown down a candle lit aisle with sister Haylie as her maid of honor.

"Mike held his arm around Hilary for most of the romantic, candlelit ceremony, and they both looked extremely happy," an eyewitness told People magazine. Cute!

The pair dated for about two years before making it official in front of about 100 guests. In fact, when we caught up with Hilary in the months leading up to the wedding she said that the couple was hoping to have a small wedding — even though Mike was pretty much up for everything. She said he was far from a groomzilla.

"I think that If I had it all figured out tomorrow, he'd be like 'Great! Let's go!'" Hilary told Hollywood Crush in April. You never know! I could always turn into a bridezilla later on!"

Well, even if that was the case, all the zilla-ing tactics definitely paid off because the wedding sounds gorg!

'Entourage' Series Finale in 2011: How Should It End?

LOVVEE LOOVVEE this show and im sad to see it coming to an end. I will admit i haven't been watching the new season so i have a lot to catch up on. Vince and the boys will be missed.

Over the weekend HBO announced that Entourage will officially come to an end next year. The show, currently in its seventh season, will end after season 8 during the summer of 2011. However, movie possibilities beyond that, similar to what HBO did with Sex and the City, are still a possibility.

During the Television Critics Association press tour, HBO programming president Michael Lombardo revealed that the current plan is to have one more shortened final season, possibly limiting season 8 to as few as six episodes.

With the possibility of a film, it will be interesting to see how Entourage decides to end so that it's a satisfying conclusion while still leaving the door open for more stories. Currently Entourage is heading now a surprisingly topical path with movie star Vincent Chase pulling a Lindsay Lohan, going off the rails.

The character is getting drunk in the morning, passing out naked by his pool and dating a porn star. The show also seems oddly prescient with a storyline where one of Ari's former agents is blackmailing him by releasing tapes of his offensive rants to the media. These scenes were filmed prior to the Mel Gibson debacle, which makes the show very up-to-date.

Ideally, I'd like to see Entourage go out on either a huge high or a deep low. Vincent should either win an Oscar or go to jail, a la Robert Downey Jr. Or both. The most refreshing part of the season 7 storyline is that Vincent's life has always been a little too picture-perfect, and showing that the excesses of fame and fortune can lead to your downfall is a lot more entertaining than seeing a happy-go-lucky, good-looking, rich movie star.

But more importantly, Johnny Drama needs to win something. There is no more pathetic character on TV than Drama, a constantly frustrated second banana who has everything taken away from him at the last possible second.

'Inception' Destroys The 'Schmucks' At The Weekend Box Office

July faded away and August roared into view this past weekend, and judging by the weekend's relatively low box office numbers moviegoers apparently had summer plans that didn't involve heading to the local cinema. Surrounded by three soft openings from newcomers, Christopher Nolan's "Inception" once again proved that successful original action films this summer are more than just a pipe dream.

The fourth movie of the year to spend three weekends in first place, "Inception" earned an estimated $27.5 million at the domestic box office this weekend, raising its total gross to $193.3 million after opening 17 days ago. Having already cleared its reported production budget of $160 million with domestic dollars alone, "Inception" is also a success abroad; overseas performances add up to a $363.3 million worldwide total.

Beyond "Inception," three new movies premiered at the box office with varying degrees of disappointment. "Dinner for Schmucks" was the best-performing of the three, arriving in second place with $23.3 million. A remake of the 1998 French film "Le Dîner de Cons," the Jay Roach-directed "Schmucks" marked a personal best opening for Paul Rudd in a leading role.

"Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore" didn't fare nearly as well, drawing a mere $12.5 million fifth-place finish, with slightly over half of that total earned from 3-D screenings. "Kitty Galore" was a significant step down from its "Cats & Dogs" predecessor, which arrived in theaters to the tune of $21.7 million in 2001.

Rounding out the weekend's major releases was "Charlie St. Cloud," the Zac Efron-starring drama from Universal Pictures. The movie amassed $12.1 million this weekend for a respectable but unremarkable sixth-place finish.

It was one the greatest movies of all time, until it wasn't.

Several weeks before it appeared in theaters, Christopher Nolan's "Inception" picked up some of the most flowery hosannas bestowed on a film in many months. A select mix of critics, film awards columnists and online movie bloggers who'd seen early advance screenings rained down unanimous compliments.

But as the film neared its public debut Friday, that unanimity crumbled. Several influential mainstream critics declared themselves less than enthralled.

Ambitious films — and as a wholly original concept sprung from the fertile mind of writer-director Nolan, "Inception" is indisputably ambitious — frequently divide critics. But the swing here was sharper than usual and was enough to perplex the average filmgoer.

"There seems to be a tidal phenomenon going on — the wave went one way, and then it went another," says Salon critic Andrew O'Hehir, who with a lukewarm review was part of the second wave. "I almost want a social scientist to come in and analyze it, because those of us in the middle of it would like to understand it."

Anticipation for "Inception" had been building for months. It is Nolan's first feature since the hugely popular and critically lauded Batman film "The Dark Knight" in 2008, and in an era in which studio movies increasingly stick to familiar subject matter, here was a storyline — a tortured hero named Dom Cobb ( Leonardo DiCaprio) leads a team of dream invaders on a risky mission — that defied convention.

In that first wave of reviews, Kirk Honeycutt at the trade paper Hollywood Reporter said "Inception" puts Nolan "at the top of the heap of sci-fi all-stars." Online columnists were even more frothy, canonizing the film with the likes of the Alfred Hitchcock classic "Vertigo" and Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey."

"A film like nothing you have ever seen before.... This could be the film to solidify the director's place among the modern masters," proclaimed pundit Kris Tapley on the film-awards site In Contention. A "Kubrickian masterpiece with heart," declared Anne Thompson at Indiewire.

But as critics from large consumer outlets began weighing in last week, the current shifted. Reviewers from the Wall Street Journal, Salon, New York Magazine, Slate and the New York Times all registered deep reservations about the film, criticizing, among other things, its triumph of the technical and conceptual over the narrative and the emotional. "For the most part, 'Inception' is a handsome, clever and grindingly self-serious boy-movie, shorn of imagination, libido, spirituality or emotional depth," wrote O'Hehir in Salon. "[T]hough there is a lot to see in 'Inception,' there is nothing that counts as genuine vision," tweaked A.O. Scott in the New York Times. "The emperor's new bed-clothes," declared the Wall Street Journal's John Anderson.

There were also a number of mainstream critics who exalted the film. The Los Angeles Times' Kenneth Turan and the Chicago Sun-Times' Roger Ebert were among those who were warmly enthusiastic, with Turan calling it "a tremendously exciting science-fiction thriller that's as disturbing as it sounds." (Audiences also embraced "Inception"; the movie grossed a studio-estimated $60.4 million over its opening weekend.)

But overall, the film lost a good fraction of its cachet. A 100% "fresh" rating on the review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes early last week had, by the weekend, fallen to 83%. It's telling, too that the site's "Top Critics," which tend to represent the most influential reviewers, were a number of points off that mean — they approved only at a rate of 76%. Those are enviable figures for most films but a notch below the best-reviewed movies of the summer, such as "Toy Story 3" and "The Kids Are All Right."

The polarity between the first and second group of reviews, experts say, may in part reflect the differences between Web and print culture. "There's a tendency in the blogosphere and maybe in American culture at large to take anything new and either detest or adore it," says Chicago Tribune film critic Michael Phillips, who gave the movie a qualified endorsement of three stars stars out of five. "What I think some of the critics are trying to do is bring an element of nuance."

"We live in an era when there's a tendency to overvalue anything that's even slightly good. In another era I don't know if we'd see gushing enthusiasm," says David Ansen, the longtime Newsweek critic and current artistic director of the Los Angeles Film Festival.

The schedule of the pre-release rollout may have also played a part in the shift. The constituencies for which a studio advance screens a movie, and at what intervals, are as calibrated a part of a movie's release strategy as on which television program to buy advertising time.

In a series of tiered screenings, the studio showed it first to many of the online columnists who rightly or not are often characterized as not bringing the same level of scrutiny to a film as more veteran critics, judging it instead by the standard of whether it's smarter than many of its summer-movie counterparts. (One of the few print critics of note to see the film in this first tier was Rolling Stone's Peter Travers, known for being one of the more generous of print reviewers. He went on to proclaim "Inception" "the mind-blowing movie event of the summer," a quote Warner Bros. promptly used in its television spots.)

But such a strategy also poses risks. Too much early buzz can stir contrarian feelings in those who see it later — even perhaps rigorously independent critics. "Any individual critic is going to say they're evaluating the movie on its own terms," O'Hehir says. "But I think in the aggregate this larger phenomenon does come into play, especially with a Chris Nolan or Jim Cameron [writer-director of "Avatar" and "Titanic"] who can divide critics. I don't know if it's conscious or unconscious, but I think there is this thing where some of us go into a movie spoiling for a fight."

Ansen put it this way: "I think many of the observations would have been the same, but the tone might have been different."

Indeed, one of the unusual characteristics of the "Inception" debate has been critics evaluating the film in the context of other reviews. "I truly have no idea what so many people are raving about. It's as if someone went into their heads while they were sleeping and planted the idea that 'Inception' is a visionary masterpiece," wrote David Edelstein in his New York Magazine review, adding "Slap! Wake up, people! Shalalala! Slap!"

Among other factors, say pundits, many of those in the early wave might have also been using a weaker frame of reference.

Ansen says the people who see it first "maybe feel like they want to help make a movie, and then critics come in later and grade that down."

Many students of film criticism point out that this cycle isn't new — it's just faster.

"Dwight Macdonald noticed this phenomenon years ago: The daily critics say the obvious thing. The weekly critics feel inspired to correct them. The monthly critics set themselves up as adjudicators," Ebert said in an e-mail, citing the 20th century editor, critic and essayist. "Of course, with the Internet, this process takes only a weekend."

Okay so this weekend i went to watch eclipse, let me tell you the first time i saw twilight i LOVVEED it, i couldn't wait for new moon and when new moon came out, i was ultra super excited.. and then ended up being extremely disappointed. anyways when eclipse came around i was" whatever" about watching it.. if i saw it cool if not then i wasnt going to stress over it.. well i saw it and i LOVVEEDD it! i felt all didn't emotions in that movie just like a movies should be.

'Eclipse' Lights Up July 4th Weekend Box Office

Whether you're on Team Edward or Team Jacob, "Twilight" fans of all shapes, sizes and loyalties flocked to theaters this weekend to award the supernatural franchise's latest installment, "Eclipse," with the first-place prize at the Fourth of July holiday weekend box office.

"Eclipse" took an estimated $82.5 million from Friday through Sunday, resulting in a $175.3 million cumulative total since opening on Wednesday (June 30). Having established new Hollywood records for widest-ever opening release, best midnight debut and single greatest Wednesday premiere, "Eclipse" was unable to eclipse its own predecessor's success — "New Moon" remains the "Twilight" franchise's champion with an opening weekend total of $178 million. Despite this, there's no denying that "Eclipse" is already a huge hit, having surpassed its own production budget by more than $200 million thanks to the $100.2 million earned from foreign locations.

Even as "Eclipse" easily took first place, director M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender" managed a solid second-place finish worth $53.3 million, resulting in a cumulative total of $70.5 million since opening on Thursday. Those opening numbers aren't as impressive when measured against the film's reported $150 million production budget, but given the massive amount of critical backlash levied at "The Last Airbender," the movie actually performed rather well under the circumstances.

"Toy Story 3" landed in third place with $42.2 million, bringing Pixar's latest to a massive $451.9 million worldwide total after only three weeks in theaters. Fourth and fifth place went to last weekend's newcomers "Grown Ups" and "Knight and Day" with $25.9 million and $13.8 million, respectively.

'Eclipse': The Reviews Are In!

SOOO who went to watch Eclipse last night at midnight?? i was going to go but the truth was that i was just too tired.. i had been traveling all day and didn't make the trio with my sister"s i got their reviews this morning .. and they LLOOVVED it and said they would see it again. soo now i didn't read this article but i mean I'm sure we all have out opinions.

Would it be an exaggeration to say "Eclipse" is the most polarizing film of the year so far?

In one corner, you have the Twilighters lining up outside theaters across the country to be among the first to check out the latest romance-laden adventure starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. Those fans will line up again and again before the weekend is over, likely bringing "Eclipse" an opening box-office haul to match, if not exceed, the $142.8 million that "New Moon" grossed in November. In the other corner, you've got the skeptics, the who-watches-this-crap haters and the bloggers taking to the Web to spew vitriol at every moment of teen romance "Eclipse" has to offer.

There will be no détente for these two camps; the gap between them as unbridgeable as anything on today's pop-culture landscape. Critics on both sides of the Twi-divide have weighed in on the third installment of the vampire franchise, and MTV News checks out what some of them had to say.

Owen Gleiberman of Entertainment Weekly does an excellent job of trying to get the fans and the haters to see eye to eye. "The 'Twilight' movies, like the books on which they're based, are often mocked," he wrote. "But that's only because we're still, on some level, getting used to the novelty of a highly contemporary blockbuster saga that's this rooted in old-fashioned, borderline masochistic girlish romantic rapture. The movie version of 'Eclipse,' with its dueling boy-monster hunks — a chaste orgy of male gazing — revels in the power that Bella experiences by giving herself over to the powerlessness of love. The movie is about a girl's primal dream of being desired. That may well be corny, but it's also an essential antidote to summer-movie hardware."

Of course, not all reviews are as generous about what they see as the film's abundant shortcomings. Take MTV News' own Kurt Loder: "[N]ew director David Slade is still stuck with the story — which, deriving as it does from the paceless goop of Stephenie Meyer's books, and having been wrestled into a script by Melissa Rosenberg, is a threadbare quilt of pre-teen romantic clichés padded out unconscionably with long character flashbacks and rambling dialogue that's deader than any of the vampires in attendance," Loder said. "(The picture runs two hours, and might have been more enjoyable — and certainly less exasperating — if it had been cut down into a one-hour TV special.)"

Salon.com's Andrew O'Hehir approached the film with an open mind and found some fanboy pleasure to be had up onscreen. "It's a geek-friendly genre flick, with plenty of CGI effects and fight sequences, along with extended detours into the back stories of rural Washington's undead and shape-shifter populations, and the tense relationship between them," he offered. "Melissa Rosenberg's screenplay even has a few flashes of comedy, and develops an emotional power that goes far beyond the depressive, lovesick languor of 'New Moon.' "

What of the castmembers' performances? Opinion, predictably, is split, with some slamming the big three and others applauding the young actors for giving their best effort yet in the series.

"There is a new tenderness and sweetness that Stewart brings to her relationships — more playful with Pattinson, more affectionate with [Billy] Burke (especially when Charlie tries to have 'the sex talk'), and more intense with Lautner," wrote Betsy Sharkey of the Los Angeles Times. "Bella doesn't want to let down anyone, and Stewart makes sure she doesn't. But it's Lautner, in particular, who has grown, giving Jacob an emotional interior nearly as hard-packed as those abs, which are very much on display."

We'll give the final word to one of the film's true fans. "Sure, the book itself is a fan favorite," a reviewer wrote on TwilightMoms.com. "How could its visual counterpart not be entertaining with the leg hitch, the tent scene, and all the grandiose displays of outrageous vampire and werewolf skills? I must say, however, that it wasn't just those scenes that blew me away, it was the film in general. The Cullens are cooler, the wolves wolfier and the acting supreme. This visual experience is not just a fan treat, it's a full-on dessert potluck of Twilight movie-goodness. And you will walk away feeling like you just feasted."

Actress Amanda Bynes Retires at the Age of 24

Actress Amanda Bynes says she is ready to retire from Hollywood completely at the age of 24.

Taking to her Twitter page to express her disgust with the industry, the former Nickelodeon star said “Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem.”

“If I don’t love something anymore, I stop doing it,” Bynes wrote. “I don’t love acting anymore, so I’ve stopped doing it.”

After working on such shows as “All That,” “The Amanda Show” and her own sitcom “What I Like About You,” Bynes made the transition to film, appearing in “She’s the Man” and “What a Girl Wants.”

But after her latest film “Easy A,” which hits theaters this fall, Bynes said, “I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I’ve #retired.”

Bynes further complained about her image in roles, saying “I’ve never written the movies & tv shows I’ve been a part of. I’ve only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play.”

A rep for the star has not officially confirmed the Twitter announcement.

Hollywood Hopes ‘Toy Story 3’ Can Spur Summer Sales

Grumpy moviegoers have left the film business trying to dig itself out of a summer slump after a series of big-budget disappointments and the lack of a single blockbuster comedy.

Memorial Day weekend attendance was the lowest since 1993. Box office receipts for the next weekend plunged 24 percent compared with the same weekend a year earlier.

Sony’s remake of “The Karate Kid” sold a surprisingly strong $56 million in North America over the last three days, landing firmly in first place, but a much more expensive adaptation of “The A-Team” from 20th Century Fox fizzled with $26 million.

It was enough to put this weekend up 11 percent over the same one last year, according to Hollywood.com, which tracks ticket data. But total domestic box office revenue since early May — when “Iron Man 2” opened with a bang — has fallen about 6.4 percent, to $1.02 billion, from $1.09 billion in the period a year earlier, according to Hollywood.com.

So it will take more than a robust performance from “The Karate Kid” to truly kick-start Hollywood’s summer, the period between early May and Labor Day that typically accounts for 40 percent of annual ticket sales. Indeed, now comes the hard part: convincing turned-off consumers that studios have held back the good stuff.

The best chance for studios to prove that the down cycle has actually broken, box office analysts and others say, is the arrival on Friday of “Toy Story 3,” starring Buzz Lightyear and pals. It is the long-anticipated third installment (this time in 3-D) in a series that helped Pixar establish computer-animated family fare as the film industry’s most reliable moneymaker.

“Toy Story 2” opened with more than $75 million in 1999, when adjusted for inflation. Hollywood hopes the follow-up will handily beat that total, delivering the kind of opening weekend tally that the industry expects from its big-budget, heavily marketed releases.

Still, it may be tough to win back the favor of an audience that has been trained to expect more than Hollywood has delivered in the last few weeks. One danger is that potential filmgoers tend to overlook a next round of pictures when they did not like the last batch.

“It’s all about changing their mood,” Dennis Rice, a marketing consultant who previously ran Disney’s publicity operation, said of the entertainment business.

Kevin Goetz, chief executive of Screen Engine, a marketing and research consulting firm that specializes in entertainment, says viewers increasingly reserve their ticket purchases for pictures that promise something truly special, whether that means amazing visual effects or extraordinary reviews.

“If you don’t have a product that delivers in a unique and powerful way, then certainly the messaging has to do that,” Mr. Goetz said.

A variety of other factors may be holding back the box office, including blowback from consumers over higher ticket prices. Perversely, the improving economy may have taken the edge off ticket sales that were buoyed last year, when filmgoers sought a relatively cheap diversion from financial woes.

But the primary reason is most likely ho-hum movies. In the last few weeks, Hollywood’s offerings have lacked luster. “Sex and the City 2” got some of the worst reviews in memory for Warner Brothers, while “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” from Walt Disney was received with a collective shrug.

New comedies like “Killers” from Lionsgate and “Get Him to the Greek” from Universal Pictures registered barely a blip when compared with “The Hangover,” the spring-summer comic juggernaut of 2009.

And for all the talk about a 3-D revolution, only one major 3-D film, the hit “Shrek Forever After,” from DreamWorks Animation, has been released since May. At least four 3-D movies, including “The Last Airbender” from Paramount and “Despicable Me” from Universal, are still on deck for the summer.

But those will arrive without the momentum that powered last year, when eight action fantasies and animated films topped $150 million each at the spring-summer box office. They were led by four — “Up,” “Star Trek,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” — that had already been released by this point in the year.

“Yes, there seems to be a slump,” acknowledged Tom Sherak, who is a consultant for Marvel Entertainment and president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences — and is generally known as an industry cheerleader.

As most of you already know the MTV movie awards were on last night and we all know they are filled with corny , racy and sexual jokes that we just cant help but not laugh at. unfortunately i didn't get to watch! i only saw a few parts here and there but I'm sure it will be playing over and over so hopefully i get a chance to watch it sometime this week. I'll be completely honest i wasn't really that into watching it.. and as i suspected of course new moon took all the wards but I'm curious to see the kiss between scarlet jo and Sandra bullock haha. long article but lots of detail about the night.

The MTV Movie Awards are known for making twenty-somethings like me (and thirty-somethings like you) feel pretty old. The red carpet is always filled with young-bloods who have more hair and muscle mass than we do, and the movies honored are the ones we pretended to have swine flu so we'd get out of having to take our nieces to see them. Of course there's the occasional recognizable figure to get us through such an unimportant award show, like the all-star Betty White and Sandra Bullock (who we recently found out happens to have been married to a Nazi! Imagine that!).

Other than those two forces, if you spent two hours folding your laundry instead of watching the MTV Movie Awards, you deserve a full scholarship to Harvard or a Ferrari. Because you're a better person than I am...with way more clean clothes.

I'm sure deep down you're wondering what you missed, but you're too embarrassed to ask any of your friends if they caught the show. It's actually okay, because it turns out...you can see what you missed right here! On this very page of the Internet! No need to drill around from website to website, looking for the best clips from the award show you missed (where the trophy is non-edible popcorn) simply because you had a conversation with your wife or fed your kids. We at Hollywood.com salute heroes like you, who had to forgo watching Scarlett Johansson kiss Sandra Bullock in real time because your dog wanted to go outside and walk behind the ice-cream truck for awhile.

First, we saw Ken Jeong (who used to be a doctor, actually...as in a person who gets your heart to start beating again) and Ed Helms sing about the subject matter of tigers dreams, which if you might recognize from their movie, "The Hangover." But it was coldly interrupted by a Tom Cruise-looking (get it?) Les Grossman, who then appeared on stage and grinded with Jennifer Lopez. But not before making it clear he has the dancing skills of a light bulb. It was kind of great.

Then, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson won "Best Kiss" for the tonsil hockey they played in "New Moon." Typically, the winners of this award are supposed to reenact the kiss when they're holding their faux-gold box of metallic popcorn. However, KStew and RPatzz hate fame and refuse to do anything the way they're supposed to. So instead, they did this little song and dance, which was even more fake than any movie where baby geniuses talk or spend a day out in New York City without getting run over by a city bus.

Next, Katy Perry performed "California Gurls." Eh, well. Her day-glo clothes are cool and LED-lit glasses were pretty sweet. But other than that, it wasn't bamboozling. But people are talking about it, so you should see for yourself. It was kind of like what would happen if the Beach Boys sniffed lots of highlighters and decided to become Cher impersonators.

Then Christina Aguilera sang a mashup of "Bionic," "Not Myself Tonight" and "Woohoo." Now I don't know about you, but I much prefer the "Lady Marmalade" and "Dirrty" Christina to this one, who seems to be addicted to laser tag and "Iron Man" movies.

And finally, the moment you've all been waiting for, Sandra Bullock's acceptance of the "MTV Generation Award." It's just like those young people to refer to us middle-aged people (note: I'm not even close to being middle aged) using old terms like "pre-seatbelt era" and "generational." In what must be an attempt to counter those ageist words, Sandra Bullock plants a nice wet one on Scarlett Johansson, a la the closeted nyphomaniac on her spring break vacation to Cancun! Oh Sandy. Don't let MTV or your Nazi ex-husband get you down. You're as young as ever.

Twitter Campaign Wants 'Community' Actor to Be First Non-White Spider-Man

Could the movies soon have the first African American Spider-Man?

If thousands of Twitter users get their way, the star of Sony's upcoming reboot of the franchise will be Donald Glover, best known from his role on NBC's "Community." This weekend the Twitter hashtag "donald4spiderman" became the #3 trending topic in the U.S., and the campaign is still gaining steam.

The origins of this latest attempt by social media users to influence casting decisions occurred last week. After surveying the five mostly unknown white actors said to be vying for the role, Marc Bernadin, a writer for the sci-fi site io9.com, called the choices "bland" and asked, "In this day and age, why does Spidey have to be a white guy?" In response, commenters threw out Donald Glover's name as a possible contender, and a Twitter campaign was born.

A unique aspect of this latest fan campaign is its wholehearted support by the subject in question. Glover seems to like the idea (though he makes it clear on his Twitter page that he's interested in auditioning, not just being handed the role without first having to prove his worthiness). While he had nothing to do with its inception, Glover himself has been promoting the campaign, instructing fans to tweet the #donald4spiderman hash tag at strategic times to keep it trending.

In years past, an Internet petition of this kind might not be given much credence, but given the overwhelming success of the recent social-media uprising to get Betty White a hosting gig on "Saturday Night Live," this could be Glover's ticket to director Marc Webb's tryout room. He and his fans will have to act fast, though: The Hollywood Reporter is already forecasting the five most likely contenders for the role, and Glover is not on the list

Glover, a comedian and former writer for "30 Rock," has starred in only one movie so far: "Mystery Team," a comedy he co-created with his sketch comedy team, Derrick Comedy, which came out in 2009.

One hurdle Glover's fans will have is in his presumed bankability as a movie star: "Mystery Team" brought in a meager $89.4 thousand in domestic box-office sales.

It was the sort of thesis-antithesis, drama-of-ideas moment that the show had always specialized in. The problem was that several hours later, after the show’s mystical, walk-into-the-white-light ending, it was Desmond who would be proved more right. The battle Jack was about to engage in with the monster inhabiting the body of John Locke mattered in the way that the proper placement of X’s and Y’s matters in an equation — meaning on “Lost” always having been largely abstract, as if it were a product of flow charts rather than imagination.

But when the entire island story line we had been following for six seasons turned out not to matter very much within the internal organization of the show’s narrative — to be largely disconnected from that final quasi-religious resolution of the plot — it was deflating, despite the warm feelings the finale otherwise inspired.

Most of the post-mortem discussion of the finale will involve parsing and grading that final 10-minute sequence. Before conducting our own analysis, however, let’s talk about the previous 140 minutes of “The End.”

It’s not uncommon — in fact, it’s probably the norm — for successful television shows to soften up as the seasons pass and viewers (and creators) get more attached to characters and more personally invested in how stories play out. It happened this season with “Lost,” and it reached its apogee on Sunday night in an episode that was largely a pleasant, nostalgic wallow for the show’s fans.

Tonally, the episode was dominated by the sentimental machinations of the sideways story line, where Desmond continued to act as a sort of spiritual mother hen or reunion organizer: gathering his flock of characters and leading them to reclaim their memories of the island, one after another, like nonbelievers seeing the light at a tent meeting.

Some of those moments were expertly orchestrated and very moving. Sun and Jin, whose memories were unlocked when they saw an ultrasound image of their baby, Ji-yeon, suddenly were able to speak English again, a plot trick that has always worked. Sawyer and Juliet touched fingers over a candy bar and jumped back as if from an electric shock. Jack’s final memory montage, when he saw all the moments in which he had raced to save others, was lovely.

Meanwhile, the island story, in keeping with a season-long trend, was eventful but strangely thrill-free.

The production crew was never able to make the cave holding the all-important, island-binding golden light look more impressive than a water ride at a cheap amusement park, and it was a major problem that the scenes of Desmond and Jack lugging various stones around the sacred pool inspired giggles rather than awe.

“The End” exemplified how pedestrian the action in “Lost” became over the years, a falloff that began even in Season 1. There was nothing to make you tense up in the scenes of Jack and Locke fighting on the cliff or of boulders rolling around as the island threatened to disintegrate. (One exception: Kate telling Sawyer “I’ll see you at the boat” and leaping off the cliff into the ocean. But that’s a hard scene to mess up.)

Now let’s get back to the ending of “The End,” in which the big reveal was that Jack Shephard, to all appearances a divorced father and successful surgeon in the sideways universe, was in fact dead. So were all the other Losties who had gathered in the church. The scenario was cleverly constructed to remove the possibility that they had been dead all along (a possibility I erroneously considered, and blogged about, before rewatching the scene), or that any of the events on the island or in the off-island lives of the Oceanic 6 had been other than real.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart Have 'Gotten Better At Hiding'

I was going to post an Iron Man. vs . robin hood article but since i love the twilight series i couldn't help but post this one because i want to know.. are they or aren't they?!

Last week on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," Robert Pattinson joked that the truth about his are-they-or-aren't-they relationship with Kristen Stewart is that she's pregnant. Responded KStew, "He really loves to shock people because he thinks it's funny."

That sort of charged banter between the two "Twilight" stars speaks to one of the biggest mysteries behind the scenes of the vampire franchise: No one really knows if Pattinson and Stewart are dating. And that relationship ambiguity has only increased now that photos of the two out in public together are harder to come by.

"I don't know if this is the actual reason why, but we have gotten better at hiding over the last year," Pattinson told USA Today directly after the "Oprah" taping.

"That's totally the reason," Stewart added. "They just make up a story to go along with the pictures. If they never get the picture, there's no story. We are just good hiders now."

It's surprising, to some extent, that she would even address any aspect of her relationship with Pattinson. Earlier this month, Stewart told Elle, "I would never cheapen my relationships by talking about them." And last year, she slammed the romance rumors by saying, "I probably would've answered it if people hadn't made such a big deal about it. But I'm not going to give the fiending an answer. I know that people are really funny about 'Well, you chose to be an actor, why don't you just f---ing give your whole life away?! Can I have your firstborn child?' "

Yet the speculation continues, perhaps with good reason. The USA Today article notes that for a portion of the interview, Stewart placed her hand on Pattinson's leg. Casual gesture or flirty signal? She also happens to know quite a bit about the more intimate material in Pattinson's upcoming film, "Bel Ami," in which he shares heated scenes with Kristin Scott Thomas, Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci.

"[T]hey're not like typical love scenes at all," Pattinson said.

Reality starlet pleads to burglarizing Bloom house

LOS ANGELES -- A reality starlet accused of burglarizing Orlando Bloom's house pleaded no contest Monday to felony burglary and was sentenced to up to six months in county jail after reaching a deal with prosecutors.

Alexis Neiers, 18, an aspiring model who has been the subject of the E! Entertainment Television reality show "Pretty Wild," entered the plea shortly before her trial was slated to begin. Bloom, star of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Lord of the Rings" film franchises, had been expected to testify.

As part of the deal, Neiers was sentenced to three years of formal probation and six months in county jail for the July break-in. She also agreed to stay away from Bloom and his Hollywood Hills home.

She will begin serving her sentence June 24. She had rejected plea deals that required jail time but was facing up to six years in state prison if convicted at trial.

She could be sent to state prison for two years if she violates probation, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Peter Espinoza said.

"After lengthy considerations and fighting the best pretrial fight we could, we decided it was in Alexis' best interests to take responsibility for her small part in this incident," her attorney Jeffery K. Rubenstein said.

Neiers is among six people accused of targeting homes of celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Rachel Bilson and stealing millions in jewelry, clothing and other luxury goods.

Some of the items pilfered from Bloom's home, including two expensive watches, have not been recovered. Neiers may be responsible for part of up to $680,000 in restitution that may be ordered to be paid in the case, but her share may also be deemed minimal.

Three of the other people charged in the burglary at Bloom's home have not yet gone to trial. Neiers told police she was drunk when she went to the house and didn't take anything there.

Rubenstein said Neiers is planning to move on with her life and will not have any involvement in the other burglary cases.

Rubenstein said Bloom's expected testimony was a factor in Neiers' plea.

"Orlando Bloom's willingness to come testify did not help our case," Rubenstein said. He added that prosecutors appeared to have enough evidence to convict Neiers.

"We thought this was a just result," Deputy District Attorney Sarika Kim said after the hearing.

A preliminary hearing for the remaining defendants is scheduled for May 25.

Playboy's Hugh Hefner helps rescue Hollywood sign

Reuters) - Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner on Monday donated the last $900,000 sought by a conservation group for a land purchase needed to save the famed vista of the Hollywood sign from being spoiled by development.

Hefner's key role in reaching the group's fund-raising goal was announced by Los Angeles city officials, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and the San Francisco-based Trust for Public Land at a news conference in the Hollywood Hills.

The land trust needed to collect a total of $12.5 million by this Friday under a deal with a group of Chicago investors who bought the 1,820-foot (555-meter) ridge, called Cahuenga Peak, from the estate of billionaire Howard Hughes in 2002.

The trust will now purchase the 138-acre (56-hectare) adjacent parcel and turn it over to the city to be incorporated into the surrounding Griffith Park, preventing any construction that would mar the postcard-perfect view of the Hollywood sign nearby.

"My childhood dreams and fantasies came from the movies, and the images created in Hollywood had a major influence on my life and Playboy," Hefner said in a statement. "As I've said before, the Hollywood sign is Hollywood's Eiffel Tower and I'm pleased to help preserve such an important cultural landmark."

Other private donors to the Hollywood sign preservation effort included actor Tom Hanks and director Steven Spielberg, the land trust said.

'Kick-Ass' Sequel In Jeopardy After Weak Opening?

Despite the lack of an A-list star in the title role or a long-established fanbase, "Kick-Ass" seemed set to hit the #1 box-office spot over the weekend and launch the start of a new comic book movie franchise. But instead of fulfilling projections that fell in the $25-30 million range, "Kick-Ass" didn't quite cross the $20 million plateau by Sunday night, and now the green light for a sequel seems far from certain.

That's quite a turnaround from weeks and months past, when "Kick-Ass" director Matthew Vaughn and stars Aaron Johnson and Chloe Moretz talked of their plans for a sequel.

"We have an idea for the sequel. We have a lot of options," Vaughn told MTV News at South by Southwest in March, declining to elaborate, since the film hadn't yet come out.

Perhaps that was a wise decision on his part. While Mark Millar, who wrote the "Kick-Ass" comic, has plans to pen a sequel, it's unclear whether that comic will form the basis for a second film.

Johnson, who plays the title character, was looking forward to seeing what Millar has planned and how it might have figured into a sequel film.

"His mind is out there and elaborate, and he's got some fantastic ideas and he's got a huge fanbase," the actor said. "So, it'd be exciting to see what the second comic's going to say, because he's going to bring it out probably summertime next year."

Johnson was pulling for a sequel in which his character, a mild-mannered teen who decides to become a green-suited crime fighter, develops some abilities more in line with his alter ego's name, Kick-Ass. "It'd be great if I could learn how to fight," he said. "If he doesn't, he doesn't. I don't think the character should develop into some superhero. He's forever Dave Lizewski, this kid that's got a lot of heart and he's really sensitive. I don't think you can f--- around with the character so much."

Moretz, meanwhile, had hopes that her Hit-Girl superhero would start riding a purple Ducati outfitted with Gatling guns.

What are the chances that will happen after the first film's middling box office bow? It's not unheard of for a movie that doesn't rake in huge dollars to gain a sequel. Arriving on U.S. soil in 1980, "Mad Max" grossed just $8.6 million, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com, but it launched Mel Gibson's career and led to two more films — the second grossing $36.2 million in 1985. A year earlier, "The Terminator" pulled in just over $4 million — good for the #1 spot but hardly huge numbers at that time — yet it went on to become a franchise. More recent examples like "Final Destination," "Resident Evil" and "The Transporter" show that a first film doesn't have to do gangbuster numbers to spawn further installments.

So what's the fate of "Kick-Ass"? We'll have to wait to see how the movie performs in the coming weeks to have a better idea of its cinematic future. Only then will we know the answer to co-star Mark Strong's stance: "I'm sure it can go on and on if they want it to."

I think they passed it off that they could be a married couple and the two of them are extremely funny in their own way. We went out looking for what the critics were saying about the movie because as always, it seems that they are well suited to know what is best for the public and are going to give every movie out there their honest opinion. You know that movie critics have no reason to bluff or give you false information.

"I didn't know a lot about The Runaways or Cherie Currie when I got the script, and I looked online to see the videos of the Live in Japan tour and her performing Cherry Bomb, and I realized that I wanted to play her," says Fanning, who knew of Joan Jett, but had little exposure to the electric era.

Jett is an executive producer of The Runaways (in theaters nationwide April 9), which is based on Currie's memoir and chronicles the sharp rise and fall of the all-girl band.

Fanning embraces her first major adult role playing lead singer and sex kitten Currie opposite a leather-studded, chin-jutting young Jett, played by Kristen Stewart.

Fifteen, then and now

"A lot of people still think of me as young, and as the girl from I Am Sam, or whatever," Fanning says on a sunny spring afternoon in her room at the Regency Hotel after a day of doing non-stop press. She's plopped on a couch, dressed casually in skinny jeans, open-laced boots, a gray blazer layered over a graphic tee. Around her neck is a simple Tiffany gold key necklace.

"After this (film), I might be able to do different things," Fanning, 16, says. "As you get older, there are roles you can no longer do and so many more things you can do." Mentored on-set by Currie, on-screen Fanning dives deep into the pitfalls of fame: drinking, smoking (herbal cigarettes, she says), and thrusting sexuality full-force into the camera with each throaty cherry-bomb burst.

In person, Fanning is still the sweet, fresh-faced young actor behind past performances in I Am Sam, The Secret Life of Bees and Charlotte's Web.

"I really liked that I was 15 (playing the role), and (Currie) was 15 and seeing what a different time I've grown up in and thinking, 'I could probably never do this, I could probably never be on my own and on the road and performing in lingerie.' "

In a pivotal scene in the film, Fanning's slender body is encased in Currie's signature barely-there corset, worn originally on tour in Japan in 1977. Fanning keeps the costume at home.

"That corset is kind of how she expressed herself, and for Cherie, the way she expressed her sexuality was to wear that corset and to be the cherry bomb," she says.

To beef up her vocal chops, Fanning worked with Currie's original vocal coach.

"Then I was kind of thrown into the recording studio, and that's what you hear in the movie and on the soundtrack," Fanning says, noting The Runaways often recorded songs only a few times before releasing an album. "That was a little scary, but it actually worked out really well."

With new opportunities have come new friendships. She and Stewart, called "Salt and Pepper" in The Runaways (a nod to their blond and black David Bowie-style haircuts), remain close.

"She's become one of my best friends," says Fanning, who first met Stewart after hopping on the Twilight franchise during New Moon to play bloodthirsty vampire Jane to Stewart's innocent (and human) Bella. They reprise their roles in the next installment, Eclipse, scheduled for release in June.

No longer the little kid

Walking into New Moon felt as nerve-racking as the first day of school, Fanning says, but Stewart quickly brought her into the fold. "I've never really worked with a lot of young people in movies, and this is one of the first times I've worked really closely with someone that's closer to my age than a father figure or mother figure."

The two spent the first half of that New Moon day figuring each other out. "And then we were in a tent on the set, and it had a heater in it and we were alone, and we started talking and we instantly connected," she says.

In a Runaways scene, the two kiss, something both approached with little fanfare. "I wasn't even nervous," Fanning says. "It just kind of happened. The way it's written in the script, there's no direction. It was something that happened, they were best friends. It was a different time back then."

In her own life, Fanning has managed to build a surprisingly normal teenage life. She lives at home in Los Angeles with her parents, is crazy for Panda Express takeout and attends private school. Though she turned 16 in February, she cops to not having a learner's driving permit yet.

"There are some days where I'm like, I gotta drive, I gotta get out of here, I should be able to drive myself, and there are other days where I'm like, "Mom, it's OK, you can just drive me forever,' " she says with a laugh.

Finally ! watched shutter island.

so this weekend i finally watched shutter island after it being out for more then a month and i have to say its a great movie i don't understand why everyone was saying it was so bad. yeah it was obvious there was going to be a twist at the end. and yeah i will admit it was a little confused at the very end( I'm talking the last 2 minutes) but after processing it.. your realize how brilliant it is. so i do recommend this movie.

Last night i watched The Price Of beauty on VH1 and i have to say it was a pretty interesting and entertaining show.. i will admit sometimes Casey and Jessica can kinda be disrespectful towards there culture by not eating certain foods they might offer or spiting them back up like the bugs.. but then again what do we expect haha anyways i looks forward to watching more episodes.

Jessica Simpson found herself in the news an awful lot in the past few months, but never for any kind of work she was doing. She was criticized for looking overweight, slagged off by ex-boyfriend John Mayer for being "sexual napalm," dealt with rumors of a romantic relationship with Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan and nearly lit her hair on fire with some sort of ear candle. With Monday night's (March 15) premiere of "The Price of Beauty," she's back in the public eye for something she actually wants to be known for. Simpson's new show, which airs on VH1 every Monday at 10 p.m., shows her traveling around the world looking for what beauty means in foreign cultures. To promote it, she has been hitting the press hard: She appeared on Monday's episode of "The View" and also paid a visit to "The Late Show with David Letterman," where she was snapped leaving the studio in a lovely red dress.

She wasn't the only star getting close to the people, as "The Runaways" star Kristen Stewart was seen at New York's JFK Airport and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker did a bit of shopping (with his daughter in tow) at Barney's in Los Angeles. I know this was the topic last week. but i went to watch Alice and wonderland at midnight on Thursday night and i saw it in IMAX 3d .. and i recommend watching it in IMAX 3d it was a good movie..not as Trippy and dark as i thought it was going to be. but it was entertaining. i liked it.. a couple of my friends didn't like it. but we all have our own opinion. i thought it was a good movie.. but like i said i expected it to be a little more freaky.. which is wasn't.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Moviegoers flocked to the premiere of "Alice in Wonderland" this weekend, with the big-budget Disney film shattering several box office records, highlighting the ongoing appeal of 3-D films.

Tim Burton's interpretation of the classic book by Lewis Carroll, starring Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska, opened Friday in roughly 7,400 screens at 4,000 locations.

Despite mixed reviews, "Alice" brought in an estimated $116.3 million from Friday to Sunday. It was the biggest ever March opening and soared past the $77 million that "Avatar" earned when it opened last December, setting a new record for the debut of a 3-D feature.

The performance also blew past industry expectations. According to BoxOfficeGuru.com, the film was expected to make about $70 million in its first weekend.

Overall, "Alice in Wonderland" notched the sixth biggest opening weekend in box office history. It was also the highest grossing ever for a movie released outside of the peak movie-going months of May, July or November.

3-D mania
"It was a phenomenal opening," said BoxOfficeGuru.com's Gitesh Pandya. "It proves that moviegoers have no problem spending more for 3-D movies."

Ticket prices for 3-D films like "Alice" can cost up to $4 more than traditional films. The film was also shown in IMAX, which can be even more expensive.

According to BoxOfficeMojo.com, about $80 million, or 70%, of the opening haul for "Alice" was due to 3-D ticket sales. In IMAX, "Alice" brought in a record $11.9 million.

Brandon Gray, president of Box Office Mojo, said the combined premium from 3-D and IMAX sales for "Alice" appear to have added about $22 million to the film's gross.

"There were a number of factors working in favor of 'Alice in Wonderland'," Gray said, including the star power of Depp and Burton, as well as Disney's aggressive marketing of the film.

"It was a combination of appealing material and a strong marketing campaign," he said. "You could also say that there was a halo-effect from the 'Avatar' run."

While "Alice" surpassed "Avatar" in its opening weekend, analysts do not expect the Disney film's overall performance to top that of James Cameron's epic, which brought in a total of $2.5 billion to become highest grossing movie ever.

"It's going to be a more front-loaded film than 'Avatar,'" Pandya said. "It won't have the same kind of legs."

To be sure, few films have enjoyed the staying power of "Avatar." The 20th Century Fox film opened just before Christmas and benefited from a slew of holiday weekends during its extraordinary 3-month run.

But the success of "Alice" has raised expectations for a host of other highly anticipated 3-D films due out this year, including Warner Brothers' "Clash of the Titans," which comes out next month.

Other 3-D films in the works will capitalize on well known franchises, such as Harry Potter, Shrek and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Jumping the shark
Pandya said he expects most of this year's 3-D features to do well. However, he warned that the challenge for the movie industry will be to take advantage of the current buzz surrounding 3-D films without overdoing it.

"Hollywood is jumping on 3-D bandwagon," Gray said. "There's a high probability they'll run it into the ground."

He said much of the current interest in 3-D movies is due to the novelty of the technology, adding that it's too soon to tell if that interest will last much longer. For the time being, however, it appears that movie-goers are not deterred by higher prices for 3-D films.

"Right now, people seem willing to pay the premium for an enhanced movie going experience," Gray said.

Alice and wonderland!

So its Semi almost here! Alice and Wonderland! woo I'm excited to See it.. but i know this may sounds dumb but i didn't realize until maybe a few weeks ago that its more like a sequel then a remake, because well for obvious reason, Alice is getting married, not studying with her tutor and because the mad hatter says" Alice your back!?" haha any who i expect this to be huge at the box office this weekend.

TIM BURTON, the director of Disney’s 3D movie “Alice in Wonderland,” which opens next month, is no stranger to over-the-top visuals (remember “Edward Scissorhands”?). Lewis Carroll’s classic tale is the perfect excuse for Mr. Burton and his crew to go gangbusters once again. Makeup aficionados will especially appreciate the Queen of Heart’s vivid blue lids and heart-shaped lips, and the Mad Hatter’s green eyes, ringed with azure, fuchsia and brick-red eye shadows and what looks to be white mascara.

The decision to license several beauty products inspired by the film was easy. “With an interpreter like Tim Burton, we saw a huge opportunity,” said Johanna Mooney, director of health and beauty business for Disney Consumer Products.

Urban Decay is offering a limited-edition Book of Shadows, a pop-up box, right, containing 16 eye shadows (colors include White Rabbit and Jabberwocky black), a primer and two eye pencils ($52). And the nail company OPI has partnered with Disney to introduce four limited-edition colors, left, that include Off With Her Red ($8.50 each).

This isn’t the first time Disney has teamed up with makeup companies. “Great brands find our characters very inspiring,” Ms. Mooney said, noting that Disney’s first collaboration with a makeup company for adult products took place in 2005, when M.A.C. Cosmetics introduced the Tint Toons collection based on classic Disney animals like Daisy Duck. Bath and Body Works introduced a line inspired by Tinker Bell in 2007, and last fall Disney partnered with Carol’s Daughter, a New York natural skin-care company, for a bath line to accompany “The Princess and the Frog.”

According to a report released by Mintel last August, marketing cosmetics to moviegoers seems worth it: 16 percent of 2,000 people surveyed said they had bought shampoo linked to well-known characters. Disney has also seen the evidence in its past efforts: Tint Toons sold out in one day in Japan and in two weeks domestically, while the “Princess and the Frog” products, after being posted on the Carol’s Daughter Web site, were sold out by noon the same day.

Indications are that the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows will also be a success. According to Ms. Mooney, UrbanDecay.com featured the product on its home page last month. In less than one day, it was sold out.

Daily Buzz: ‘Shutter Island’ $40 Million Weekend,

So one movie i wanted to see this weekend and never got the chance too was Shutter Island! i remember hearing about this movie a long time ago and wanted to watch it but the release date got pushed back. anyways. i keep hearing mixed reviews from friends/ tweets. some say it was absolutely amazing.. and other say it was a horrible movie! so i dont know but im still very curious to watch it and find out for myself.

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio won big at the box office, as Shutter Island raked in $40.2 million this weekend. The box office hit is the biggest opening weekend ever for Scorsese and DiCaprio, exceeding “experts” predictions for an opening weekend by over $15 million dollars. Not bad!

Valentines day movie reviews. not so god.

Okay so I'm hearing mixed reviews about this movie. my sister, Ben Lyons( daily 10 on e!) and this articles are all saying that Valentine's day the movie is super overrated and the movie isn't even good!. but then other sources say its a cute movie.. i agree with the movies being a complete disappointment because i called it out from the beginning when i head it was coming out.. it just reminded me too much of " Hes just not that into you" i don't know I'm just going to have to see for myself. If you have seen it please gives us some feed back on what you thought about the film?

In a movie full of forced gags, it's hard to pick the worst one. The kid who constantly pulls his shirt over his head is a good choice. The cheating husband who literally juggles (Get it? Juggles?) isn't bad, either. But top prize for "Valentine's Day" goes to frazzled publicist Kara (Jessica Biel) and aspiring sports reporter Kelvin (Jamie Foxx). As Kara complains about how the day of love drives her to gorge on chocolate, she munches greedily on the contents of a heart-shaped box. Kelvin tries to pry the box away, and the two collapse awkwardly on the couch. Their eyes lock and, well, you know the rest.

That moment sums up the film, which is stuffed with anonymous Angelinos engaging in ridiculous behavior. In no particular order: A florist (Ashton Kutcher) deals with a flaky fiancée (Jessica Alba), a teacher (Jennifer Garner) falls in love with that snake of a married man (Patrick Dempsey), an old married couple (Shirley MacClaine and Hector Elizondo) tackles a long-kept secret, a fifth-grader (Bryce Robinson) orders flowers for a mystery valentine, an aging quarterback (Eric Dane) considers retirement, high school lovebirds (Emma Roberts and Carter Jenkins) plan their "first time" and an army captain (Julia Roberts) flies home for one special night.

So basically, it's about a bunch of pretty people falling in and out of love with each other. Every "twist" is visible from a mile away. The only surprise: two of the characters are gay! It's a direct rip-off of "Love Actually," a curl-up-on-the-couch DVD favorite that relies on nuanced emotions rather than recycled sitcom punch lines.

The names on the poster are sure to pull in a sizable audience, but they may find the two-hour running time a drag. The storylines make other ensemble films, even Robert Altman's epic "Short Cuts," feel concise. Director Garry Marshall is no Altman, so he must be a really nice guy with a heck of a phone tree. Somehow, he convinced three generations of talented actors to commit to a pointless exercise in cuteness. Every tired romantic comedy trick gets a moment. There is even an airport chase scene, as Kutcher's florist chases down Garner's teacher to tell her that the guy she's flying to see is married.

Then again, the roles didn't require much of a commitment. Julia Roberts, for example, spends the majority of her scenes in an airplane seat tossing back short answers to businessman Holden's (Bradley Cooper) prying questions. Despite the limited screen time, the actors appear to be game. With all the colorful personalities on set, filming must have been a blast. Too bad they didn't consider the feelings of the audience.

The younger actors use the film as an opportunity to break free of typecasting. Kutcher seems determined to prove he can make it as a legitimate leading man. The goofball persona he adopted several years ago is slowly melting away. Dempsey, the ideal hunk in the eyes of women across America, embraces the chance to play a slimeball.

The good sport award goes to Hathaway. Not only does she give her all to a few emotional scenes with Grace, but she dives head first into her phone sex characters. The Russian dominatrix and Southern belle are highly entertaining. Grace matches her enthusiasm. Like Kutcher, he appears set on shedding his dweeby "That 70s Show" past.

Perhaps the one storyline that shines through involves Taylor Swift. The country music star, who hinted at her potential on a recent episode of "Saturday Night Live," is genuinely funny, although her acting still needs work. The surprise performance is bittersweet. Pointing out Swift's comic stylings is sort of like complimenting the stitching on an ugly prom dress.

Some might scorn the cynics who trash "Valentine's Day." But it's more than just a bad movie; it's a symbol of how far the romantic comedy genre has fallen. Not that long ago, Hollywood churned out classics like "Moonstruck" and "When Harry Met Sally" on a regular basis. Now, "Valentine's Day" is the norm. The film is like a bag of candy conversation hearts still on the shelf in April -- stale, unwanted and not as satisfying as it should be.

Lil Wayne Says Goodbye To Fans In Online Video Before He Goes To Jail

I dont know about you guys but i really li8ke lil wayne i think he is very talented and very slick with how he ryhmes haha tha carter III was probably my favorite! haha well yeah hes going to jail...i don't really know for how long hes being held for tho.

In the wee hours of Wednesday morning (February 9) Lil Wayne spent nearly an hour saying farewell to his fans in a live streaming video. He is expected to turn himself in on Wednesday afternoon in New York after his formal sentencing and begin his year-long jail term stemming from his July 2007 arrest on gun-possession charges. after a night of apparently recording in the studio, got on the Ustream page of Lil' Twist, an artist in his Young Money camp, and said goodbye.

"I'm out this bitch," Wayne said, sitting outside a Miami studio. "To all my fans, my real fans I really, really truly love you. I love you with all of me for real."

Most of the Ustream footage was shot inside the studio, however. It started off with Wayne taking a poll and jokingly asking the fans if he should consider a person a real friend if they missed his farewell party at Miami club Dolce Sunday night in Miami. He then tells the fans as they started to log on by the thousands to download at least one song from his just-released-but-long-delayed LP, Rebirth.

Denver Nuggets guard J.R. Smith (who spent 30 days in jail last year for a reckless-driving incident in which his friend was killed) briefly called in to say what's up.

"Why I be so close to the camera?" Wayne laughed, making fun of himself for putting his face near the Twist's laptop screen. "You could really tell I don't know nothing about the computer. ... I'm really like a old n---a."

Later, Wayne sends love to his hometown New Orleans Saints for their Super Bowl win.

"Shout out to all the Saints out there, Reggie Bush, [Marques] Colston, Drew Brees. The Dome Patrol, Rickey Jackson for being elected to the Hall of Fame this year. Pat Swilling ..."

For the entire broadcast, Wayne was very upbeat. He was his usual jovial self even when talking about his upcoming jail stint.

"For all the people that didn't know, this is the last time you gonna be seeing me live for a long muthaf---in' time. So watch: This is history."

Wayne also talked about his his work ethic, pointing to a pimple on his forehead, which he said was due to not getting any sex.

"You can tell I've been working hard. Sleeping alone. I've been sleeping with my clothes on."

Weezy then started to joke about his signature dreadlocks.

"My hair got bounce! That sh--'s nice, you feel me? That sh-- real nice," he said. "This is Lil Wayne, featuring my hair. And no, I did not have to cut my air off. That's a stupid rumor. Look at this beautiful sh--."

After playfully posing for the fans, Wayne once again talked about his tireless work schedule.

"Tonight's my last night. ... I came to the studio to get some work done. To all you artists out there, that should be a message or example. I came to work."

Shortly after, Fat Joe and his manager Macho walked in. They both hugged Wayne. Joe told Weezy that he loved him and asked him if he was gonna be OK. Within minutes, Drake called in on Wayne's cell phone. You couldn't hear Drizzy's words, but it was obvious that the Young Money franchise player wanted to make sure he let Wayne know how he felt.

"Nah, n---a, I love you. It's all love," Wayne said. "You know what I told you, hold that sh-- down."

As the Ustream came to an end, Wayne walked outside to start getting ready to go home.

"Thank you from the bottom of me," he said, sitting in his car before pulling away. "Do not forget about me 'cause I will forever think about you. I cannot wait for you to see me again."

the runways .. the reason for Kristin haircut we miss the long hair. we;; i do at least looks much much better.

Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart have definitely taken on a wide variety of movies since their child-star beginnings. But the two "New Moon" stars certainly strayed from their comfort zone for "The Runaways," the biopic about the highly influential 1970s all-girl rock band. Not only did they kiss each other, they also had to sing for their supper as Cherie Currie (Fanning) and Joan Jett (Stewart).

But Fanning wasn't intimidated by having to tap into her inner rock star; she really enjoyed it. "I wasn't dreading anything," she told MTV News while promoting the film at Sundance. "Actually, I was just really excited to do it. It's one of those things, like, you don't know how it's going to feel until you're actually there. And for me, [singing] 'Cherry Bomb' was what kind of summed the experience up for me."

But Stewart said that while Fanning has "got it," she wasn't quite as comfortable in the role of the rock icon — which is actually a good thing.

"I need to be thinking that this is the hardest job that I'll ever have to do, because I need to make myself nervous a little bit," Stewart explained of her acting process. "And I was intimidated by the singing part, even though it's not as much as what [Fanning] has to do. Joan has such a distinct sound, and I didn't want to sound stupid. I didn't want to sound like I didn't sound anything like her."

Stewart admitted meeting the real-life Runaways added a bit more pressure to the mix. "Having met them, it becomes such a different thing," she continued. "You're now responsible for the most important times of these people's lives that you've gotten to know and that you respect so much. And respect isn't even the right word for it."

If you look closely at Denzel Washington, as he saunters in slow motion through a bombed-out hotel lobby full of rotten-toothed ruffians, you can see that his hair and beard are flecked with gray as well. Is it just our imagination, or is the aridly desolate post-apocalyptic road movie showing its age? In the last 35 years or so, there have been an awful lot of them, going back to A Boy and His Dog (1976) and, of course, The Road Warrior (1982) — the greatest of all futuristic wasteland thrillers — and, most recently, The Road. I'm not sure if anyone was clamoring for another one of these films just now, but one thing is certain: We don't need The Book of Eli, a ponderous dystopian bummer that might be described as The Road Warrior without car chases, or The Road without humanity.

What's left? A lot of wide-open barren desert space shot from music-video angles (think the Red Hot Chili Peppers' ''Give It Away''). The directors, Allen and Albert Hughes, do their best to make the landscape threatening by filling it with a token sprinkle of homicidal bikers and cannibals, plus Gary Oldman as an evil ringleader whose scariest aspect is his harshly photographed skin. Roving through it all is Washington's Eli, a monosyllabic lone gunslinger in a signature outfit of sunglasses, kaffiyeh, and knapsack packed with lethal blade. He's a mystical avenger who has been wandering through the wilderness for 30 years, toting a leather-bound King James Bible from which he plucks ominous quotes. He makes apocalyptic prophecy sound like a rerun.

I'd be willing to forgive The Book of Eli its portentous sins if it had kick-ass action scenes, and every so often Eli does slice and dice the stuffing out of half a dozen hooligans at once, or he presides over a gun battle in which the bullets clatter and echo with full-metal zing. But those are just about the only scenes in the movie that have a pulse. At their best, the Hughes brothers have been brilliant directors: Their first film, the 1993 mind-of-a-gangbanger classic Menace II Society (made when they were just 20), established them as visceral and psychological prodigies, and the criminally underrated From Hell (2001) was a gothic-shock serial-killer mystery that featured Johnny Depp in one of his finest performances. (Had he been the mainstream superstar he is today back when the film was released, it might have been a sensation.) The Book of Eli is the first Hughes brothers movie that feels stripped of drama, imagination, sensibility. Some may find the film worth sitting through simply for its final ''Whoa!'' of a twist, but the Hughes brothers direct most of it as if they were glorified end-of-the-world set decorators. The Book of Eli is like a movie based on a graphic novel you don't want to read. D

anyways i hope you guys had great holidays and got the much needed rest i know we all need.
i didnt really watch as many movies as i would have liked too over this break but i did watch the blind side.. wow what a great movie, it was sad yeah but not as sad as everyone made it seem it was going to be. dont get me wrong great story sandra bullock greatt! in this film i would recommened it.

Sandra Bullock's feel-good film "The Blind Side" has made feel-good film history. According to Variety, the film has become the second movie with a female lead to make over $200 million at the domestic box office. Take that, Meryl Streep! Take that, Megan Fox! One of you might be considered to be the greatest living actress and one of you might be considered to be the hottest living girl posing as an actress, but neither of you can make that kind of box office bank. We'd have to imagine that Bullock is feeling pretty good about herself right about now.

Oddly enough, the only other film with a female lead to break the $200 million mark was 2002's "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." The film starred Nia Vardalos, and we think we can all pretty much agree that that really marked the pinnacle of Vardalos's career.

It's been an incredible year for Bullock, as not only was "The Blind Side" an unbelievable success, but so was her romantic comedy "The Proposal," which brought in $164 million domestically. (Okay, so Sandra also made "All About Steve" too...but nobody's perfect.)

Bullock is nominated for Golden Globes for both "The Proposal" and "The Blind Side." She reacted to her two nominations by saying, "I am beyond stunned. Just to be included in the company of these amazing women I have so admired through the years has left me slack-jawed with awe." We wouldn't be surprised if there was an Oscar nom in Sandra's future for "The Blind Side." She really nailed that sexy southern twang and that stiletto-wearing, know-it-all walk.

Over the weekend, "The Blind Side" reached a domestic box office total of $208.5 million. Reacting to the film's box office numbers, Dan Fellman, Warner Brothers president of domestic distribution said, "And we're not even done. I think 'Blind Side' has another $30 million left."

i will admit this movie does seem like its will be good. i recently took a trip to Disneyland and they had this big parade with singing and dancing to promote the movie it looked sooo cute. so yeah here are some merchandise items. this movie is out on Friday!

The bulk of the "Princess and the Frog" merchandise hit store shelves Nov. 30, Beech said, as Disney prepares for a big holiday push. Princess Tiana costumes, however, hit the market shortly before Halloween, and they have been selling "very, very well, " even though the movie hasn't even come out yet.

"They're all selling because people have seen the trailer, " Beech said.

Not all of it is for little princesses, either. A real-life, big-girl wedding gown designed by Kirstie Kelly and inspired by "The Princess and the Frog" is set to land in the spring at bridal boutiques. There's also a line of adult beauty products in the offing.

FX Picks Up TV Rights to All Four 'Twilight' Movies

Only a few days after 'New Moon''s enormous opening weekend -- the third-highest in movie history -- 'The Twilight Saga' has found its future home on television.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, FX has bought the rights to air all four of Summit Entertainment's 'Twilight' films.

The original 'Twilight' will premiere in late-2011, followed by 'New Moon' sometime in 2012. 'Eclipse,' due in theaters on June 30, will premiere in early 2013.

As part of the agreement, Summit's less-popular -- but still lucrative -- 2009 films 'Knowing,' 'Push' and 'The Hurt Locker' will also air on FX, beginning in mid-2012.

'New Moon' shattered all expectations last weekend when it opened with $142.8 million over five days, finishing just behind 'The Dark Knight' and 'Spider-Man 3' for the biggest five-day weekend ever.

FX's licensing deal is based on the saga's North American box-office performance. As the report writes, if 'Eclipse' and 'Breaking Dawn' each earn $200 million domestically, the network could pay around $100 million for the series (for everyone's sake, we hope the FX execs are Twihards).

FX has been on a spending spree of late, snapping up the TV rights to a string of $100 million-plus grossing movies. Among the titles you'll soon see on the network include '2012,' 'Zombieland,' 'Star Trek,' 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' and 'The Proposal.'

Reviews on the 4th kind.

I personally really wanted to watch this movie, i didn't get to this weekend it was a jam packed weekend for me.. but now after hearing all these reviews on the movie im starting to think maybe i should just wait till it comes out on video.

first i hear that the " real" footage isn't even real! which i mean if you think about its understandable that they would used the Phrase" based on actual cases" to draw us ..its a from of publicity. but i will admit its a bit disappointing. i think if they would have just left it as just a movie it would have done much better, because then no one would be criticizing the " real" footage part.

here's a paragraph or two from one a screamfest review.

I'm not sure exactly what quality it is that real people possess and actors lack, but any time a film pretends to document real behavior, either literally or as a reenactment, something is almost always missing. Sometimes the problem is a deliberate decision to enhance events with artificial emphasis or drama, and sometimes it's simply too great a sense of self-awareness in the actor, who knows he or she is performing. But while there are a precious few movies that nail that authenticity, notably the recent underdog-blockbuster Paranormal Activity, such is certainly the case in The Fourth Kind, a film that purports to build an argument for alien abductions using "actual" footage from case studies.

While much of the movie's so-called source material carries the convincing roughness and deficiencies of homemade, handheld recording, too much of it seems far too calculated, both in its technical proficiency and the performances contributed by its "real" people. Further, its accompanying reenactments by recognizable actors undermine the possibility that audiences can take its case seriously, all of which adds up to thriller that unravels easily even if it nevertheless occasionally qualifies as a scary good time.

The film opens with a literal introduction by Milla Jovovich, who explains that the film is based on actual footage from real cases, some of which is used alongside the reenactment footage she participates in as Dr. Abigail Tyler. The "real" Tyler more or less provides a through-line for the story via an interview she agreed to with Olatunde Osunsanmi, who also happens to be the film's writer and director. As she describes the discovery of a shared vision of a smiling white owl among her patients, Jovovich provides context for Tyler's increased hysteria: after Tyler's husband dies under mysterious circumstances, she immerses herself in his work, a psychotherapy study which alienates her from her children, lands her in hot water with the authorities, and eventually endangers her life.

The main problem with the film may be that audiences are just plain too sophisticated to buy into its combination of actual and staged material; even if it's believable to release therapy sessions and private interviews, much less ones where strange and violent behavior occurred, there's just no way that the police would allow filmmakers to include actual shots of a man killing himself and his family. Meanwhile, the rest of the movie is so aggressively over-stylized that you get the impression even the filmmakers don't quite know what they're doing when they keep the camera constantly moving, flip, shift and juggle "actual" images with reenactment footage, and generally overplay the falseness of the acting footage as some extreme counterpoint to the real stuff.

i don't know about you.. but there are soo many great movies that are coming out this month as well as in December and i cannot wait to watch them.. first this weekend is " the box" and " the 4th kind" both movies i really would like watch.. but the one release im counting down to is " NEW MOON"!!! ahhh i cannot wait to watch it.. im currently reading the book and its just making me even more excited to watch it then i was before.

basically in this saga.. Edward leaves bella because shes in too much danger if he stay with her.. of course bella is a big mess for a few months.. until she starts to hangout with Jacob black.. and that's where it gets good.. seriously.. i cannot wait to watch. yyeee!

On Saturday i went to watch Where The Wild Things Are. i went with three Friends who had all read the book growing up.. i have never once read the book but i do remember seeing it.

The Movie was good, but i will admit it was kinda all over the place like i didn't really see the plot of the movie.. maybe besides dealing with anger. Other then that i thought it was entertaining.. but then again i didn't have any expectation for it because i had never read the book. The movie was funny, had some sad spots but nothing over the top, and over all i think children ages 10 and up will enjoy it.. maybe 7- 10 and up haha.

Yesterday i went to watch couple retreat and i have to say i thought it was going to be alot funnier.. personally i think it was a comedy for adults because..they they seemed to be the only one laughing.

don't get me wrong the movie did have its parts but like i said i thought it was going to be better.. my personal opinion, so watch and see for yourself.

Aww, this is sad. Gidget, the famous chihuahua that is in Taco Bell commericals died at the age of 15. I always remembered this commerical. It was funny seeing a dog speak spanish. And to be honest, this is the reason why I have a little spanish phrase under my sleeve. I would be like, "I speak spanish..Yo Quiero Taco Bell". Haha. I want Taco Bell!

I still can't believe the King of Pop is gone. He was truly gone too soon. but was this an accident? or something that was planned? There were Needle marks on Michael Jackson's arms, but hasn't he already been taking medicine that would cause him to take injections of some sort? Who honestly would know. All I know is that investigators are looking into it until they find an answer. I'm so sorry that this had to happen. But in eonline.com It states that "Not only were needle marks found on the star, but they were located on his neck and arms, a source tells E! News. Investigators are hard at work trying to determine whether the marks were from IV needles used to administer the powerful sedative Diprivan." Sister La Toya Jackson takes this news a step further, allegedly telling a British tab, "He had many needle marks on his neck and on his arms, and more about those will emerge in the next few weeks. But nothing has changed my mind that this was murder." I seriously can't believe that someone would murder Michael Jackson, he has always wanted to change the world into something that is better than right now.

I mean Lindsay isn't in any movies at all nowadays. Prosecutors claimed Lohan, 49, called 34-year-old fiancée Erin Muller in April and threatened to kill her and himself. Lohan, who served two years in state prison for assault, cocaine and DUI charges, had repeatedly proclaimed his innocence and chalks the whole thing up to a misunderstanding. "It just goes to show you how the police and press twist things and make things into something they aren't," he tells E! News, "especially when the Lohans or any public figures are involved."

Well look what we have here. I think that Heidi Pratt was really tortured in her situation. But I think she should have known what she was getting into when she signed up for the show. She was in the "I'm a celebirty..Get me out of here!" show. I am somewhat worried that she was hospitalized. and her sister in law said that she was treated like a prisoner or something. If you ask me, SHE KNEW WHAT SHE WAS GETTING INTO. No one was going to sugar coat things for the Hills couple. Spencer accompanied his wife on the ambulance ride and remains by her bedside, her publicist, Rick Rhodes, confirms to E! News. Various reports said she was suffering from a stomach infection, but Rhodes declined to comment on the severity of her ailment.The news was broken by Spencer's sister Stephanie Pratt via Twitter: "[Heidi was] rushed to the hospital and has an IV in her arm after being locked in a dark room for 3 days w no food or water. Pls pray she will be ok…Her family is flying out to see her in the hospital." The younger Pratt blames NBC for going "too far" in punishing the Hills couple "like criminals" after they tried to quit the bug-eating, jungle-surviving show after just one episode and then begged to return.
"Im really saddened to hear that nbc felt it was ok to punish speidi so harshly-and torture them as if they were criminals," Stephanie Pratt tweeted.But ITV Studios, which produces the show, insists it would never harm any of its participants."ITV has been producing this format around the world for many years and the health of the celebrity participants are of the utmost importance," the company said in a statement. Teen wolf Taylor Lautner was sent back to L.A., where the closest he's getting to enjoying Italy is his local Burbank Olive Garden. No really, that's what he did—there are pictures. Naturally this isn't really news unless everyone's favorite sparkle vampire is in attendance and of course he is—shirt unbuttoned, emo Edward Cullen wristband and all..Rob Pattinson flew in from Cannes and was joined by his ladies Ashley Greene and Kristen Stewart, who made the trek from Vancouver.While Ash headed straight for the pool between shooting, Rob and K.Stew reunited for dinner. so, I wasn't planning on watching the MTV Music Awards, but DAMN! Haha I'm watching it now! So Eonline says that They are going to show some footage of "New Moon" at the actual MTV Music Awards. I am VERY EXCITED FOR THAT. This whole Twilight Saga better be in theatres! haha After New Moon, I am hoping that they will make another one for Eclipse. Then after that, breaking dawn and after that Midnight Sun (If Meyer decides to release the book). Awards show producer Mark Burnett says Patzz, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will hit the stage together to present the clip.

Last night's game was GOOD. And when I say good, I mean really good. Not just for the Lakers, but for everyon in America watching. I can't believe that Artest is at it again! He has the worst temper in the NBA as far as I know it. But then on the other hand, Dereck Fisher shows that he isn't just quiet, he's quietly the roughest player in the Laker team! haha I remember when he elbowed Scola all the way to the floor! haha Deng Scola is a cry baby. This was pure entertainment for all of us. Lakers are in LA we play dirrrrty. Artest got pissed that the referee didn't foul out Kobe and Artest got pissed off. It's just like him to put on a good show! haha It wasn’t like Houston played badly in Game 2, the Lakers just played really well. went off in Game 2, and their really wasn’t much the Rockets could do about it as Shane Battier constantly had a hand in Bryant’s face. After watching the first two games of this series, it appears Kobe is going to get his, so it will be up to the Rockets to keep everyone else in check like they did in Game 1. Houston will not be able to win this series if Yao Ming continues to get into foul trouble.

Alright! I finally get to talk about this. This is pureeeeee entertainment. For about 2 minutes. haha This was ridiculous! haha So in the first few seconds of the 1st round, I thought that it was over for Manny Pacquiao. I was wrong! haha Come on! Hatton & Mayweather Sr. was talking all that crap for nothing! It was very embarassing for Hatton! See what happens when you're cocky? tsk tsk. Ricky Hatton vs. Manny Pacquiao turned into the Manny Pacquiao show, as Hatton was knocked down three times in just under two rounds, and was declared out of the fight by the second bell. With a second to spare, Pacquiao knocked out Hatton for good in round 2, winning the so-called super fight and turning it into a laugher.
The knockout was so decisive that Hatton couldn't get up for 15 minutes, bringing a bit of fear into the aftermath of the match. Hatton eventually got up, however, leaving Pacquiao to celebrate a lopsided win that solidified his place on top of the boxing world.
Hatton vs. Pacquiao was hoped to be a closer fight that would live up to all the hysteria. But all the match did was increase the hysteria for Pacquiao as the new most feared man in boxing, while Hatton lost his big chance to move up those ranks.

While Jacko's camp isn't commenting, an emergency medical technician has come forward to claim that his ambulance was on the business end of a hit-and-run yesterday involving the King of Pop's Cadillac Escalade.
Jamin Mauro told KNBC, Los Angeles' network affiliate, that the incident took place while the EMT and his partner were idling outside Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He claims that as Jackson's vehicle pulled to the curb, it sideswiped the ambulance and knocked off the vehicle's mirror.
Jackson's driver jumped out, umbrella in hand, to meet the singer, who was exiting the hospital. But, Mauro says, the duo fled the scene with nary a word about the smash.
Now Mauro is hoping his pictures will do the speaking for him, as the quick-thinking EMT snapped photos of the black Escalade for insurance purposes.

I freakin hope so! haha I think it's one of the great scientific characters/ movies I've seen in along while. ahh haha I really do believe that Edward belongs to me. haha just kidding! I think that every girl will be in love with this movie. I wish my boyfriend could be more like him, and dress like him as well! haha Look, we're not the first people to break it to ya that Robert Pattinson's a dirty boy, so stop blubbering to us that your precious pinup dude doesn't reek at times. SHawn Johnson's Stalker Unveiled!

Okay first off, this guy looks really scary. haha I can't believe he would be stalking a 17 year old girl! I don't know how these people get so psychotic with this kind of thing. I feel so sorry for shawn johnson. He was so close to her when he got arrested infront of the studio. That's really freaky. Five days before Robert Michael O'Ryan was arrested for trying to break into CBS studios and woo 17-year-old gymnast Shawn Johnson with "a loaded .45 handgun, a loaded shotgun and materials classically used for kidnapping, including duct tape, zip ties [and] a map to the victim," he had to get from Florida to California.

It was on this perilous trek that Alabama police tried to stand in his way over a mundane traffic violation. But he wasn't about to give up so easily and offered up this moving tale of devotion:

"I know it sounds a little bit crazy, but my, uh, my intuition tells me that, uh, we’re gonna have a beautiful relationship together," he explained, continuing with, "I’ve been communicating with her. And, uh. Basically, I’m gonna try to get her to marry me."

Had he told the officers that getting the Dancing With the Stars contestant to marry him involved two loaded guns and duct tape, perhaps they would have given him more than two traffic tickets—one for no insurance and the other for an expired license plate.

And yes, there is video of O'Ryan trying to explain who Shawn Johnson is to these officers who somehow missed the Olympics, DWTS and that one episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager.

I even enjoyed her hit show "The Anna Nicole Smith Show". That was a very funny show. After all that she accomplished, she still remains to touch people after her death. Anna Nicole Smith's untimely death has made for some strange bedfellows, and her own estranged parents might be the next to pair up.

Smith's father, Donald Hogan, told E! News in an exclusive interview that he is considering working with Smith's mother, Virgie Arthur, to file a wrongful death suit against their daughter's lawyerly companion, Howard K. Stern.

Hogan and Arthur, who has largely disappeared from the radar since losing her fight for custody of granddaughter Dannielynn, separated when Smith was 9 months old.

"I would urge Virgie also to think about this—this wrongful death," Hogan, 61, says. "And personally, I don't care if we get a dime out of it. Not one dime."

The point would be to stick it to Stern, whom he "totally" blames for Smith's death.

"I was asked awhile back, 'Do you hate Howard Stern?' " Hogan says. "I don't hate him—but I dislike him more than anyone I have ever disliked, and I have my own personal views and opinions on things about him that I'm not going to say.

Following the Motown-themed show, the season-three, seventh-place finisher—who famously went on to win a Grammy and an Oscar—taped a performance of her single "If This Isn't Love" to air on the show at a later date.

Following the performance, Hudson, whose tour alongside Robin Thicke kicks off on March 31, spilled a few beans to Ryan Seacrest. When asked about her engagement and upcoming nuptials to David Otunga, she admitted a date had been set.

"Yeah, but it's a secret," the 25-year-old singer said. "I can't tell anybody."

Hudson gushed a little further when she taped her Thursday-afternoon appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

After the two sang "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" from DreamGirls as part of the show's Bathroom Concert Series, the host asked about the happy couple.

"We're like big kids, so we like to ride bikes, and one thing I like to do is I put my dog in her little basket and put her on my back and then we ride the bike to the dog park," Hudson told her.

DeGeneres, as usual, had an appropriate engagement gift: a romantic bicycle built for two.

This is such a tragedy, I loved Natasha Richardson in the Parent Trap playing as the mother. When I found out about her accident, it just stated that she was hospitalized. Little then we knew that she was going to pass away later on that evening. I thought that she was a great actress (still do), and I was hoping to see her in more movies. Following an autopsy this morning, the agency determined that the Tony Award-winning actress succumbed to an "epidural hematoma due to blunt impact to the head." The death was ruled an accident, said medical examiner spokeswoman Ellen Borakove.

Resulting from head trauma, an epidural hematoma is a buildup of blood in the skull that exerts pressure on the brain and can trigger coma or, in Richardson's case, death.

A private service is being planned by the Greenwich Village Funeral Home.

The 45-year-old stage and screen star died Wednesday, two days after what was described as a minor fall during ski lessons on a beginner slope.

Richardson was lucid following the tumble Monday at the Mont Tremblant resort near Montreal. "She did not show any visible sign of injury, but the ski patrol followed strict procedures and brought her back to the bottom of the slope and insisted she should see a doctor," a spokeswoman for the resort told E! News.

i dont know about you guys... but i happen to love Britney spears. ive loved her since i was little and i love now. remember when she ws being attacked by the media. yuupp i always felt so bad and stood up for her( to my sister whose a hater hahah) anyways. as we all know she recently had a new album( cirucs) of course i did purchase this album and i happen to love it very very much just like all her other albums haha. anyways i really like the song " if you seek amy" i think its super catchy and im glad thats her new single... although on the radio its "if you see amy"
we all know that Britney can be very .. welll sexual in her songs.. so i was listening to all her songs one day on my zune.. and i noticed somehting.. all her songs arwe basically about having sex or wanting to have sex.which is fine .. i mean i dont have a problem with it. i actually think its pretty clever the way she fits them in because you would really have to listen to the songs over and over to actually get it. so a few months ago when the cd came out and i was listening to " if you seek amy" i noticed.. that she says " all the boys and all the guys are begging to F ** K me" hahah not if you seek amy.. and i thought well ... thats clever haha anyways not to bag on britney because i think shes abousletly amazing.

i really want to see her in concert.. i would literally die if i could go see her i havent been able to see her since her opps i did it again tour and now more then ever i really want to see her.. so for those who are going let me just say that i am extremely jealous. haha gbut take lots of pictures because its usppose to be amazing!

I remember watching this show with my mom when I was younger. My mom's favorite shows were Melrose Place and 90210. I have some of the reviews about this and they said that it's embarassing that they would have to come back. I don't think so. These classic characters are what built 90210, so I don't think that it would be embarassing at all. These are good characters! I just remember Shannen Doherty has a Diva issue with every movie or show that she is in. One is 90210 and the next one was Charmed. Women of 90210, you best hold on to your men!

Shannen Doherty herself just spilled to us that her man-stealing character Brenda Walsh will be coming back to America's most famous zip code for the first-season finale of the CW's 90210.

At tonight's Race to Witch Mountain premiere in L.A., Doherty told E!'s Ashlan Gorse that Brenda will return to Beverly Hills: "You're the first people I've told. It is the finale, so you can probably expect a lot of drama."

So what will that drama be?

Doherty left the show several episodes ago, after Brenda and Kelly (Jennie Garth) had a falling out because Brenda had hooked up with Kelly’s love interest, Ryan.

Brenda also learned she could not have children, and the rumor mill is buzzing that she will return to adopt a certain teen mom-to-be’s baby (Jessica Lowndes' Adrianna).

Would Rihanna Lose Deals by Taking Chris Back?

I know that domestic violence happens everyday, but this is just another case with the add of their careers on the line. Chris Brown lost his deal with Spearmint Gum and all the other endorsements. I read the police report with rihanna and chris brown, and it was just devastating to see that a celeb could do that knowing that this will be all out in the open sooner or later. But will Rihanna lose her deals as well? In my opinion, I don't think so. It's not her fault, if anything she's not being looked at as a bad idol. She seems almost heroic.

Here is what E! online said: It just so happens that Rihanna's future as a shill depends on one person, and that is...

...you. Seriously.

Such decisions will likely take several more months, even if RiRi permanently reunites with her all-singing, all-dancing lummox. After all, she's still seen as the victim in all this—something many people in the entertainment business seem to have forgotten—and breaking from Rihanna could cause just as much bad publicity for a company as keeping her.

"I don't believe brands will use a reunion with Chris Brown as the sole basis for disengaging from her," says David Reeder, vice president at the branding agency GreenLight.

how can you not love his books they were filled with so much imagination and animation which provided us with pure fun.. you know the SAM i am and the twiddle beetles and what not haha.

anyways lots of school dedicated this day to DR.SEUSS and dressed up in little paper hats they made ( from the cat in the hat)i saw pictures it was so cute haha well i just wanted to write a little something about my favorite childrens author and let everyone know that today if he were still alive he would have been 105. but even tho he has already passed his storys and lessions still stand strong and keep going on and on for many other generations to love and adore.

As we all know the Oscars ( Academy Awards) were on last night and to be honest i didnt watch( only cause it was my friends b-day yesterday and i wasnt home) but this morming when i tuerned on my computer and went online that was the headlines on almost every major site. Of course it mainly had to do with " oscars fashion report" or " Oscars do's and donts" but but still. I really like going on and looking at what everyone one was wearing .. then it hit me.
the redcarptet before is an award show in itself, because every single person on the outside of those ropes are judgeing all the A list stars.So not only do they get attention for their work but also for there fashion.. which is great fro me because i happen to love it haha and its kinda sad tho cause a really great actress can have a terrible dress on and thats all anyone rememebers is her bad choice in outfit.
the reason i keep saying " she" is becacause you rarely hear of a man being on the worst dress list for the oscars.

300 Spartans-Fact and Fiction

For those who enjoyed watching the movie 300 Spartans like myself, many of you may have wondered how much of the movie was true. It's hard to believed or imagine that many years ago people dressed like that, spoke like that, and had to fight like that. But amazingly, the events of the 300 Spartans were true but not to exact detail that was depicted in the movie. I found an article on the internet that does a comparison betweent the movie and actual events and it's very interesting.

According to the article, there was an actual King Leonidas and Xerxes did exist. Xerxes is the scary looking king that thought he was a god. The Spartans also fought against the "Immortals". The Immortals were the Imperial Guard Regiment that protected the Persian rulers during the time of the Greco-Persian Wars. What was not true, was in the movie the Spartans foughts nearly naked. However, in real history, the Spartans had body armor.

In the movie, the Spartans were portrayed as righteous and the "good" guys. Actually, according to the article, they were not as good as they were made out to be in the movie. They actually fought and conquered neighboring areas to obtain more land and resources. According to Frank Miller, author of the novel 300, he says, "They [Spartans] were the biggest slave owners in Greece. But at the same time, Spartan women had an unusual level of rights."

So what part of the movie was true? A shocking fact to the Spartans was that they actual did get rid of "unfit" offspring. Spartan boys did leave at the age of 7 for warrior training. And King Leonidad did consult with an oracle to help with his decision to go to war. If you've never seen this movie, it's worth watching if not for the suspensful action scenes and incredibly tone and ripped Spartan bodies, it's fun to just compare the facts and myths. When I first saw the preview for Marely and Me, I could only try to decribe my excitement. I remember the preview very clearly, there was no sound only the picture of a cute fat puppy golden retriever running along side a beach with soft waves splashing on the sand. Behind this puppy was Jennifer Aniston running after him in slow motion. I didn't know what this movie was about and honestly I didn't care. All I knew was if the cute puppy was one of the main character this movie had to be good.

I guess my assumption was based on my chilhood. Reactions from books like Bunnicula and Old Yeller, still play clearly in my mind. There's something about animals that make it so hard to not like. I guess that's why insanely luxurious pet hotels and pet stores have been able to thrive. People loves animals and they love their pets. I am no exception, I can remember a time when I didn't have a dog in my home. Dogs are so loyal and unjudging. They are always happy to see you despite whatever you may be feeling or not feeling.

It's this unconditional affection and love from pets that make for good books and movies. I mentioned Bunnicula, and this is one of my favorite books even now as an adult. It is a story of a dog and a cat who thinks the new guest in the house, a bunny, is a vampire! The book hilariously describes their adventures as they play detective to discover if the bunny really is a vampire or not. Books and movies that describe the thoughts going on inside animals are good because it's always funny to assume and create what animals may be thinking from their perspectives.

Dr. Doolittle, The Bear, Incredible Journey, Marely and Me, and Pet Hotel are among the long list of movies that successfully potray animals in heart warming and loving roles. Homeward Bound Incredible Journey is among my favorite movie of the potrayal of animals as thinking passionate animals. Chase actually reminds me of my dog at home! Fun loving, playful and very very child-like!

Inside Chris Brown Investigation

So I've posted something earlier and now here's a little update about the whole Chris Brown and Rhianna fiasco. First off, I still can't believe that he would do something like that! She should obviously leave him because that's just coward right there you know what I mean? As bad as the last week has been, Chris Brown may not have even seen the half of it.

At the request of the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, the R&B star is being investigated for a variety of felonies, including domestic violence, assault resulting in great bodily injury and—based on specific allegations made by Rihanna—even attempted murder, a source close to the L.A. Police Department's investigation tells E! News.

But as they build their case, the source says, prosecutors fear that making any serious felony charges stick could prove difficult in a case where there are no direct witnesses other than Rihanna and Brown.

Brown is accused of beating his longtime girlfriend in the early morning hours of Feb. 8, causing them both to cancel their scheduled Grammy performances that night.

Rihanna told police that, while the two were fighting in his rented Lamborghini, Brown said to her, "I'm going to kill you," while his hands were around her neck. The Barbados-born songstress, who is reportedly cooperating with the cops' investigation, also told authorities that Brown choked her until she lost consciousness.

Brown was booked by police on suspicion of making criminal threats, but the D.A.'s office wanted further investigation into the incident before it decided on pressing charges.

The 19-year-old singer has been free on $50,000 bail and is currently back home with his family in Virginia.

"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired," Brown, 19, said over the weekend via his rep in his first public statement since his arrest. "I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person."

Rihanna, 20, was treated after the incident at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was discharged the following night. After canceling her upcoming public appearances, she spent last week with her family in Babardos before departing for parts unknown.

The Changeling!
wow what a movie.. seriously i loved this movie.. i thought it was well written and well presented. i was fascinated from the beginning just because i knew it was based on a tree story and i was shocked that something like that can every really happen.. just shows you how much times have really changed.

For those who haven't seen or heard of the movie. it stars Angelina Jolie and is directed by Clint Eastwood.The plot of the movie is based on a true story about a mother who comes home one day to find her son missing..
after 5 months passing the police finally solve the case and reunite mother with child .. or so we thought. we later find out that Christine Collins(jolie) returned son Walter.. isn't actually Walter. after Christine tries to tell the police that thats not her son.. put her in a psych ward for being crazy and questioning her own soon.

the rest you'll have tow watch. haha but take it from me its worth it. go rent it.
after watching the movie i researched the actual case of Christine Collins, and i was amazed on what i found.

Richard Gere- still sexy

Last night and I rented and watched Nights of Rodanthe, staring Diane Lane and Richard Gere. These two people, despite their age, are two of the sexiest people you can find on the big screen. I could write an article on Diane Lane but that can be saved for another day. Today, Richard Gere is my focus. The first time I watched him was when I watched, Pretty Woman. My interest was captured immediately, with his smooth personality and calm, confident demeanor. Although I enjoy his acting and his movies, I never took an interst in his biography. I guess I was afraid of finding some odd facts like I do with many other celebrities I'm interested in.

However, my curiosity can't be denied and so I read his biography. I was plesantly suprised at my findings. Richard Gere is extremely focused on his career and uses his celebrity status to promote his political beliefs. According to starpulse.com, Mr. Gere "is a devout Buddhist." He is deeply involved with the struggles surrounding the Dalai Lama and the struggle for human rights. Who can't be impressed with that?

His character in Nights of Rodanthe wasn't a dissapointment either. After reading his biography, his character seem to call out to him even more. If you've seen Richard Geere's other movies, then you can expect to see the same womanizer Gere in Nights of Rodanthe as well. Although they are older than other characters in your typical romance movie, don't let age be factor, Richard Gere and Diane Lane perfectly portray two individuals in love. And Richard Gere once again makes you believe there is that one person out there that can give you that love you've always dreamed of.

Jessica Alba vs. Bill O' Reilly

So I guess I'm an alba fan. I think she's gorgeous and she makes an effort to reach out to the community through charities and events. I see her as an actress that tries to lay low in terms of media spotlight, so I was suprised when I heard about her feud with Bill O' Reilly. Apparently there has been an ongoing feud with liberal Mrs. Alba and the conservative talk show host Bill O' Reilly.

She was attacked by O' Reilly and TMZ, after she stated Sweden as a neutral country during WWII. O' Reilly and TMZ mades jokes and said she was "dumb" for naming Sweden instead of Switzerland as one of the neutral countries in WWII. Jessica defended herself by quoting wikepedia. She writes in her blog:

"Last week, Mr. Bill O’Reilly and some really classy sites (i.e.TMZ) insinuated I was dumb by claiming Sweden was a neutral country. I appreciate the fact that he is a news anchor and that gossip sites are inundated with intelligent reporting, but seriously people…it’s so sad to me that you think the only neutral country during WWII was Switzerland. While I greatly respect her efforts to defend herself, and she does prove a good point. I was dissapointed that she used wikepedia as her source. I love wikepedia for fun facts and casual information. But everyone knows that wikepedia is not a good source for concrete and reliable facts. Wikepedia is open to the public and the facts on there can be manipulated by anyone! If she wants to establish herself as a serious celebrity and role model, she will have to get much better sources for information than wikepedia.

Arrested!?

On sunday night i was at home watching the 51st annual Grammy awards, as im sure most of you were too. i dont know about you guys but i like to watch the red carpet show live on E! before all major award shows, to see what everyone is wearing. This one was no different. As i was watching all the major music stars walk down in gorgeous dresses or there tailor made suits and stop to give E! an interview, we were interupted in the last couiple minutes of the show by Ken Baker because he had some breaking news about how sexy Chris Brown And his beautiful Pop star girlfriend Rihanna were not going to be showing up, yet along performing as schdueled.

Im not gonna lie. i was a little dissapointed because i love watching Chris Brown perfrom. hes an amazing dancer. after a couple more minutes ken comes back and lets us all know that Chris Brown has been arrsted in a alleged assults against an unidentified women.

Naturally putting two and two together i was shocked and wondered if the women was Rihanna. After watching the Grammy's i logged on to e! online.. haha cause E! happens to be my favorite channel and i read there article on the whole situation. i'll give you a shot hand version of the article.

Police say the singer and a woman were in a vehicle in the Hancock Park neighborhood at around 12:30 a.m. PT Sunday when they began arguing, and the argument escalated when they got out of the car.

“After stopping his car, Brown and the woman got out and the argument escalated,” the police said. “The woman suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker.”

Police received a 911 call reporting the disturbance and according to the statement, when officers arrived they found the victim, but Brown had already left the scene.
Los Angeles police officer Karen Smith says Brown walked into a station around 7 p.m. and was being interviewed by detectives. He released on $50,000 bail, according to a Los Angeles Police Department statement.

Sources say that Rihanna had visble inujuries such as brusies on her face and bite marks on her arm.
further more.. i was shcoked yet wanted to learn more... i know i know im an gossip nerd! but i also found out that chris brown has a history of family abuse.. i guess his stepdad use to beat his mother.

I love going to the movies all the time, especially on the weekends. On the weekdays is even better though because there are not a lot of people that are not annoying! ha-ha! I hate when movie theatres are full of kids. I cannot wait to go to the movies tomorrow. I am going to go with my boyfriend. I think were planning on watching the movie "He's Just Not That Into You". It seems like such a good movie. I couldn't wait till it came out.

I can exclusively reveal that all four stars—Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis—and writer-director Michael Patrick King have now signed their deals for another round of Carrie Bradshaw & Co.

"Everything was finalized yesterday afternoon," a source reports.

Until now, everyone had agreed to do a sequel, but there were no contracts signed with New Line, the studio behind the megahit.

As it is, King has yet to write a script, but shooting will reportedly begin this summer with a release date sometime in summer 2010.

Reps for the stars and the studio did not immediately comment.

In its first weekend alone, Sex and the City opened with almost $58 million in ticket sales, reportedly making it the biggest R-rated comedy opener ever. Budget to make the movie? A cool $65 million.

Quick recap in case you were one of the few who missed it: When we last left Carrie, she had married Mr. Big even after he left her at the altar. Samantha and her young beau (Jason Lewis) split, while Miranda and Steve (David Eigenberg) patched things up after he cheated on her. Bart's Nancy Cartwright a Scientologist?

What is it with celebrities and Scientology? While I do not know much about Scientology, I do know that this religion (?) has received the loyalty of many celebrities. Most famous for his belief in Scientology is probably Tom Cruise, but John Travolta and Kirstie Alley is among other members of this group. While doing some research I came upon an article affiliating Nancy Cartwright, the woman who does Bart's voice for the famous TV show, The Simpsons, to Scientology.

Nancy Cartwrigt donated a mind boggling, 10 million dollars to the faith in 2007. 10Million!!?! This very generous donation has earned her the Scientology's Patron Laureate Award. Her donation is even larger than Scientology's second-in-command, Tom Cruise. She is now back in the spot-light for using Bart's voice to recruit and advocate her beliefs in Scientology.

She is not being criticized for spreading her beliefs. Cartwright is being criticized for using the popular character of Bart as a tool for her religious intentions. As a huge Simpsons fan, I find myself sad and dissapointed that she has mixed her personal intentions with a popular character that so many impressionable children can relate to. I am also a angry that a show that I love to watch because of it's silly jokes and light-hearted nature now have now some association to a topical that I find unrelating and so controviersial. Despite the gloomy light that Nancy Cartwright has shed, The Simpsons is still one of my favorite TV shows.

Treasure Hunts Are Always Fun

When I saw the trailer ad for NBC Sunday Movie, "The Last Templar," I couldn't contain my excitement. I read this book a few years back and now they were making a movie out of it! Not only was a book that I read actually being turned into a movie, an actress that I admire, Mira Sorvino, was going to be Tess, the leading female character! I anticpated the date the movie was to air and when it finally arrived, I sat and watched the movie with child-like glee.

Unfortunately, 10 minutes into the movie, my anticipation for a great movie began to dissipate and doubt and dissapointment took over. The movie was filled with cheesy lines, and the straighforward, no-nonsense "Tess" I imagined while reading the book, was portrayed as an annoyingly feminisitic archaeologist (all too typical). I finished the 2-day movie hoping for something to change but unfortunately it didn't. Despite the dissapoint movie, my positive impression of the book remains the same.

The Last Templar reminds me of previous movies and books such as The Da Vinci Code or National Treasure. The one thing all these movies/books have in common are the intricate clues that lead to more clues and eventually some hidden treasure in the form of golds and riches or an ancient truth to be hidden forever, lest the destruction of human kind. I love these types of movies, maybe because the thrill of a treasure hunt is hard to ignore.

In National Treasure 1 and 2, Nicholas Cage and Diane Kruger did a fantastic job adding humor and passion into a treasure hunt. Maybe The Last Templar wasn't as good to me, becasue I compared it to National Treasure or maybe my expectations were just set to high becasue of the great book, but either way, while I don't regret the money I spent to watch National Treasure in the theatre, I do regret the few hours I spent watching The Last Templar.

Lara Croft

Do you guys all remember this movie from a long time ago? Probably late 1990's or early 2000's. Need to say, Angeline was a very good Lara Croft! haha She even looks like the character! Angelina Jolie's loss may just be Megan Fox's gain.

Warner Bros. has confirmed plans to relaunch—and completely overhaul—the hot-pants-wearing, artifact-collecting Lara Croft: Tomb Raider franchise, with the first major casualty being Jolie.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the third film will completely reboot the video-game-based character, including changing her origin story (most likely shying away from her English aristocracy roots), and introduce new kinds of missions, love interests and villains.

And, most notably, a new leading lady.

While producers say an actress likely won't be cast until a writer and director have signed on, Fox has emerged as the frontrunner replacement, at least as far as the blogosphere is concerned.

While Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and its inconsistently punctuated sequel, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, were produced by Paramount, the rights to the series have since reverted back to video game purveyor Eidos. In December, Time Warner increased its stake in the multimedia company, ensuring in-house studio Warner Bros. first dibs to what has been a lucrative, albeit critically panned, franchise.

The first installment, released in 2001, grossed $275 million worldwide, while the 2003 sequel earned $157 million. All told, the video game series, which launched in 1996, has accounted for more than $1 billion.

Paramedic Charged in Alleged Travolta Extortion Plot

If you don't remember me posting a blog about John Travolta's son, then you should scroll down the past blogs. It was sad because it was unknown to his cause of death you know? Well, they finally found a possibility of his death. Bahamas police are now two for three for filing charges in connection with the alleged extortion of the still-grieving John Travolta and Kelly Preston.

The second of three suspects detained in the investigation, ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne, pleaded not guilty this morning to charges of attempted extortion and conspiracy.

The 47-year-old medic remains in custody after the prosecutor in the case, Bernard Turner, objected to bail.

According to Turner, police are still searching for a "certain document" at the center of the case that they say may not be recovered should Lightbourne be released.

The nature of the document, like all other details pertaining to the supposed $20 million extortion plot, has not been disclosed, although there has been speculation that it deals with a photo taken of the body of 16-year-old Jett Travolta while in transit to the hospital.

Former Bahamian lawmaker Pleasant Bridgewater resigned from her position as senator Saturday after being charged with both abetment and conspiracy to extort.

She has since been released on $40,000 bail and is expected to be arraigned on the charges Wednesday in Nassau Magistrate's Court.

"I assure the Bahamian people of my complete and total innocence," Bridgewater said upon her release. "I am satisfied that when the full story comes out that I shall be fully vindicated.

"How these innocent actions can be so misconstrued, so perversely twisted to mean something other than it was, is a mystery."

The third person taken into custody, Travolta family friend and member of parliament Obie Wilchcombe, has been released without charge and, per Acting Police Commissioner Reginald Ferguson, is "assisting the police" with their investigation.

Wilchcombe maintains that he was the one who first alerted the Travolta family to the extortion scheme after being tipped off by Bridgewater herself, and wasted no time in proclaiming his innocence after his release.

"I did a noble thing," he told Us Weekly.

The Travolta family has yet to comment on the arrests.

Peter Pan: The Lost Movie

There's probably dozens of remakes of the 1924 classic Peter Pan. When I think of Peter Pan, I think of childhood imaginations. I think of growing up. I think of my own childhood. It's insane to think how significant movies become to popular culture and individual lives. The famous character Tinkerbell is probably tattooed on thousand of girls around the world as a symbolization of dreams and fairytales. Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and Tinkerbell costumes are sold every Halloween. There is a Peter Pan busline, a Peter Pan peanut butter, and who knows what else is out there. I admit, I have a purple star-shapped pillow with a picture of Tinkerbell on it. Peter Pan, the movie, has become an iconic movie in cinema history, and deservingly so.

Peter Pan made his big debut in a play in 1904. The play was adapted into a novel in 1911. In 1924 was made into a silent film. And in 1953 became an adaptaion of Walt Disney's Peter Pan. The story of Peter Pan is magical and creative. From Captin Hook, to Wendy, to the Lost Boys, its story captures our imagination. The boy who never grew up, is what Peter Pan is most known for. In a way, I think Peter Pan is so popular and so significant, is because maybe there's a Peter Pan in all of us. We all just want to fly to our special land where our imagination rules and we never ever have to grow up.

Hayao Miyazaki: Anime Genius

I remember when I watched Spirited Away, it was many years ago, and I was visiting a family friend with my parents. My dad's friend, noticing my boredom, asked my sisters and me enthusiastically, "Want to see a really good movie?" I wanted to say not really, but I knew better, and agreed. The movie he put in was titled, "Spirited Away." And despite my young age and lack of knowledge on graphic arts, I was captivated by the story and the pictures.

After finishing the entire movie, I had no idea what a popular movie I had watched until years later, when I became intersting in graphic arts for myself. Spirited Away is a Japanese film and according to cnn.com had the biggest opening weeekend for a movie in history for Japan. That is quite an achievement and if you like animation and fantasy type movies, watch this movie, and you'll see why it was such a hit. Spirited Away took four years to make and was critcally acclaimed by critics and the public. Japanese Anime is well known for it's graphics but it's storylines tend to dissapoint. The animator, Hayao Miyazaki, strives to break this pattern.

The famous maker, Hayao Miyazaki, orginally targetted Spirited Away for young girls,but it's impressive animation and captivating story lines have now captured the interest of teens and adults. Miyazaki reputation and films have even spread to other parts of Asia and France. Miyazaki seem to have earned and proved himself a worthy animator. "Where does he rank among Japanese animators? He's probably the greatest in Japan," said Freddie Wong, president of the Hong Kong film critics' society.

Oscar Winners? Possibly

I admit, I haven't been watching movies lately in the theaters just because I have no time whatsoever. I wish I did though because I know there are some good movies out there right now!
They may be Hollywood's biggest and brightest, but the new class of Oscar nominees isn't necessarily the most effusive.

Take Brad Pitt, who, while quick to express his gratitude for both his Best Actor nomination and the leading 13 nods nabbed by The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, kept his thanks short and sweet.

"This is a great honor for the movie, and I'm especially happy for David Fincher, for without him there would be no Ben Button," Pitt said.

Pitt's offscreen sidekick Angelina Jolie also gave props to her director and claimed that the experience itself was prize enough.

"Working with Clint Eastwood was a reward in itself that will last me a lifetime," said the Changeling Best Actress nominee, who also gave a shout-out to Animated Feature contender Kung Fu Panda, which her "entire family loves so much."

"To receive a nomination from the Academy on top of that is a privilege beyond any expectation. It has been an exceptional year for acting, and I am honored to be in the company of these talented actors whose performances all deserve this recognition."

Speaking of that competition...

Kate Winslet, who despite some expectations of a twofer scored just a single nomination for Best Actress in The Reader, took care to explain that despite her recent reign as awards season's golden girl, she did not take her kudos for granted.

"I'm extremely happy to have been nominated," she said. "And very fortunate...I'm genuinely thrilled not just for myself but for the wonderful Stephen Daldry and David Hare. These nominations are a testament to their unwavering commitment to this film."

She also paid tribute to the film's late producers, who will surely receive their moment in the spotlight once more come Oscar night.

"Surely Anthony Minghella and Sydney Pollack are smiling down on us today!"

Anne Hathaway, largely tipped to be Winslet's greatest competition for the golden statue, also offered up some gratitude for her honor, saying her nomination was something of a family affair.

"It is such a thrill to be recognized in this category with these remarkably talented women. I was with my parents and my dog when I got the news and we were all overjoyed—although I'm not sure my dog knew what was going on. This is a great day to be an actress!"

Somebody who diverted from the boilerplate thank-yous was Best Supporting Actor nominee Josh Brolin.

"It feels surreal," Brolin, up this year for his role in Milk, said. "I just got a call from [onetime costar] Javier Bardem in Spain, and he was flipping out and screaming.

"The reality is I got up at 5:55 here in Utah and looked at the clock and figured the nominations were announced and it didn't happen. I said to myself, 'That's OK, I can deal with it.' Then I realized there's a one-hour time difference."

Happy endings all around, then.

Malia Obama

I know all the rage right now is the Inauguration! But hey this is history right here. I'm certainly glad that Obama did not get Assassinated today! I pray for him and his family at all costs.
Malia Obama has the potential of being on the New York Times best-seller list.

Not for words, but for photos.

For the last few days, the oldest daughter of President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle has been photographed taking her own pics of family and friends. She even snapped away with a digital camera during her dad's inauguration ceremony.

While we highly doubt the first family is putting the pics on the market, it did get us wondering about just how much those very behind-the-scenes pics could go for.

A full-color book would definitely pique publisher's interests. "The questions publishers would ask would be: Would she write a forward? Because it would need some text, and Would she do publicity?" a senior editor at a major New York publishing house says. "If the answer was yes to both, then there would be a major bidding war…It has every reason to be a best-seller, especially among kids."

Besides, a relationship with the 10-year-old first daughter could lead to much-coveted ties to the White House. "Publishers would be looking at the future," the editor said. "There will be a lot of books coming from this administration."

David Hauslaib of media-centric blog Jossip thinks Malia's family shots showing them "holding hands, kissing, laughing, whispering" could probably fetch about $250,000 from outlets like People or any number of entertainment or morning television shows. "But regular shots of her dad, mom, sister or grandmother that are not intimate wouldn't be very useful, and would drag the price down to the low five-figures."

Of course, Malia could be taking some video, too. We all know how much her dad loves YouTube. Hauslaib estimates that footage that includes audio of the first family talking to each other would also go for $250,000.

"Of course," Hauslaib says, "the Obama parents would never sell this footage, which means the price is actually invaluable."

Perhaps they'd do it for charity. Says the editor in NYC, "A book would go for six figures, especially if there was a charity element."

Sounds like it could be the perfect book pick for—who else?—first friend Oprah Winfrey.

Inauguration Fashion

One thing that is on everyone's mind is the Inauguration! Not only that but what is Michelle Obama going to wear. She is the next fashionable first lady after JFK's wife. And before the Inauguration, everyone was talking about what is she going to wear.

Now that we've got our new president sworn in, it's time we talk about the important things, like Michelle Obama's dress.

Sticking with a tried and true body-slimming silhouette, our new first lady wore a sheath dress and matching coat by lesser-known Cuban-American designer Isabel Toledo. She kept the lemongrass lace overlay design fresh and accessible by pairing it with green J.Crew gloves and Jimmy Choo shoes.

The look was classic, sophisticated and demure. Rather than trying to figure out what was going on with her dress (like on election night), we were able to focus on the task at hand—rallying behind our new 44th prez.

At least until tonight! The Obamas have about 10 balls they're supposed to attend, and we can only hope Michelle will go all out.

Now, on to the real stars of the show. The Obama Girls!

Paul Bart's Mall Cop

I'm so angry at myself that I didn't get to see this movie! The previews look so funny and entertaining: Kevin James can open a movie. The late Notorious B.I.G. can pack theaters. 3-D movies can sell (expensive) tickets. And, kids, Clint Eastwood can kick your butt. Still.

Those were the findings from a monster holiday weekend at the box office that was led, surprisingly, by James' Paul Blart: Mall Cop, a $26 million, mustache-sporting goof that grossed a serious $38 million Friday-Monday, per the latest studio estimates released today by Exhibitor Relations.

Eastwood's Gran Torino ($26 million), last weekend's No. 1 film, slipped to second, but stayed strong. Notorious ($24 million), the Sean Combs-produced biopic about his friend, the slain rap star, debuted in fourth, but made more money per theater than any film reporting grosses.

My Bloody Valentine 3-D ($24.2 million) cost moviegoers who enjoyed the ducking and covering for about $2 to $3 more per ticket.

Drilling down into the numbers:

Exhibitor Relations says this was Hollywood's biggest-grossing Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend ever, and one of its top 10 highest grossing weekends of all time.
Who on earth bought tickets to Paul Blart? Everybody. According to Sony, the movie appealed evenly to men and women, and nearly as evenly to the young and not-as-young. Fifty-six percent of ticket buyers were under age 25; 44 percent were over 25.
There is no better thing for a film, or a studio, than to beat the expectations game, which is what Paul Blart did. Going into the weekend, My Bloody Valentine and even Notorious were pegged as possible No. 1s. Paul Blart, James' first film as a solo star, was pegged to make $25 million Friday-Monday.
Through today, Gran Torino has grossed $77 million. And counting. "Who would've expected Clint Eastwood to have a $100 million [hit] with that?" asked Exhibitor Relations' Jeff Bock. "I would've expected it with another Dirty Harrry."
Notorious earned its multimillions the hard way, debuting on 1,500 fewer screens than Paul Blart, and nearly 900 fewer than My Bloody Valentine.
My Bloody Valentine 3-D's bottom line was boosted by higher-than-average admissions, which are the norm at 3-D-equipped theaters. So, does that mean Bloody Valentine's $24.2 million, four-day take, on the low side of expectations, was good or not? "I think it's decent," Bock said. "It probably sold less tickets than The Unborn sold a week ago, so that's kind of a surprise."
In its first three days of release, Beverly Hills Chihuahua made $12 million more off 56 fewer screens than the new tween comedy Hotel for Dogs ($17.7 million Friday-Sunday; $22.5 million Friday-Monday).
You wouldn't know it by looking at its plunge in the standings—from second place to sixth—but Bride Wars ($14 million) held up okay, with ticket sales down a better-than-average 44 percent from last weekend.
How does a movie crack the Top 10? See to it that your ticket sales go up about 13,000 percent from one weekend to the next. At least that's how Defiance ($10.7 million) did it.
A batch of high-profile holiday movies dropped out the Top 10: Brad Pitt's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Adam Sandler's Bedtime Stories, Jim Carrey's Yes Man, Tom Cruise's Valkyrie and Will Smith's Seven Pounds.
For Pitt's Benjamin Button ($6.6 million), the good news is the movie topped $100 million. The bad news is its Top 10 run lasted only three weekends. The hopeful news is Oscar nominations are out on Thursday.
Sandler had a good weekend. For one thing, Bedtime Stories ($6.1 million) broke $100 million overall. For a bigger thing, he produced Paul Blart.
Valkyrie ($4.5 million) pushed its overall gross above $78 million, making it the first Cruise film since 2005's War of the Worlds to make back its reported budget from its domestic box office alone.
Remember how Carrey watchers were told Yes Man ($3.2 million) would end up outdoing Fun with Dick and Jane? Well, it still can. Provided the tapped-out Yes Man, now at about $94 million, holds a garage sale, cashes in its aluminum cans and somehow comes up with another $16 million before it leaves theaters for good.
With a $70 million gross off a $55 million budget, Seven Pounds ($1.2 million Friday-Sunday, per Box Office Mojo) did not bomb. Until you compare it to Smith's The Pursuit of Happyness, which made $163.6 million off the same $55 million.

Take Control of Your Finances in a Tough Economy

If you don't know that the economy is in trouble, you must be a) a bear in hiberantion or b) insanely rich and insanely insensitive to the world. Yes, unemployment rates are high, stocks are down, homes are being foreclosed, and faith is little. In an article titled, Drastic Times, researchers state that unemployment rates are unexpected to increase to alarming rate of 11-12% in the next few years. The article states, "On average, the GDP per person falls by more than 9% from its peak and takes almost two years to reach bottom."

The most troublesome of all the economic troubles, Kenneth Rogoff of Harvard University states, "is the effect on public finances." Real government debt has risen to an average of 86% affected by severe crisis. Don't just sit and wait while the government is busy coming up with ideas to save the economy, there are things you can do for yourself, that will help lower your debt and increase your capitol in such tough times. Some discipline that I've learned for myself:

1) Set a budget- One of my big and necessary expense is groceries. So I set a budget for groceries. How much can I afford a month? Through trial and error, I finally found the right budget for me, and I make myself and my fiance stick with it.

2) Don't eat out - we only eat out on special occassion now (and that's rare). Or if we absolutely have no choice, we'll eat out. You'll be suprise when you realize the amount of money you spend on eating out.

3) Pay cash or debit- Try to have only one credit card and use it only incase of an emergency. The interest on those things are hideous and I cringe at the amount of money they take from people.

I know saving and budgeting is hard, but believe me it's worth it. When you can go to sleep at night and not have a load of debt sitting on your shoulders, you'll feel in control of yourself and independent and it's all worth it.

Hayden Gets the Boot

I always thought that Hayden was the most prettiest and the most natural celeb out there! I didn't really like her in the movie "bring it on: all or nothing" or something. She can't be ghetto. She just can't. haha but It's all the over the internet now that she got kicked out of a bar for being underage and they took her ID. After being caught in the wrong place at the wrong time—and most unfortunately, at the wrong age—Hayden Panettiere had to make do as her own hero last month.

The 19-year-old Heroes star had to call police to a Suffern, N.Y., nightclub on Dec. 23 after getting kicked out of a 21-and-over venue and having her driver's license confiscated.

Panettiere, accompanied by six girlfriends, entered the NV Lounge at roughly 9:15 p.m. via the employee entrance and lasted about 10 minutes before security spotted and carded her.

"At that time we asked her and her friends to leave," NV Lounge owner John Reznick tells E! News, adding that the actress cooperated by giving her license to an employee.

It was at that point, Reznick says, that Panettiere was informed of the venue's policy to hand over confiscated IDs to the Suffern Police Department.

Hence her need to call the cops to the scene to retrieve her license ASAP.

"When my officers arrived on the scene we questioned Panettiere," Det. Craig Long tells E! News. "I asked her if she tried to buy alcohol and she denied it. Panettiere told me that someone opened the side door of the nightclub so she could go inside and say hello to friends, not buy drinks."

The detective says his officers "examined the ID and verified that it was proper ID for Panettiere [and] then returned the ID to her. She said she needed it to travel to California the next day."

From California, her pressing travel plans ostensibly included hopping a flight with costar-boyfriend Milo Ventimiglia, as the duo spent several days in Bora Bora over the holidays.

There was no comment from Team Panettiere on the ID snafu.

While no doubt an unpleasant experience, the incident did no lasting damage to Panettiere's record. NV Lounge did not press charges against the actress, maintaining that the club was only following proper procedure to protect its liquor license.

Still, while Panettiere may now regret the nighttime pit stop, the feeling is not unanimous.

"We were all excited to have her there," says Jon Turco, whose band was headlining the NV Lounge that night. "It's a shame she didn't get to stay and enjoy the show."
