Cameron Diaz Skips Out on Press Junket
Still mourning the death of her father, Emilio, Cameron Diaz skipped out on the press junket for her new film, What Happens In Vegas, this past weekend. Diaz, however, did send the journos a hand-written note. It read: "First of all I want to thank all of you for your support over the years. So many films, so many weekends discussing films. I was really looking forward to this weekend getting to talk to my friends about a film that I am so proud of. Due to the loss of my father I have chosen to be with my family this weekend. But it was important for me to convey to all of you how much I love this film. We really did have the best time, most fun and laughs making it. I know that the stories Ashton, Rob [Corddry] and [Director] Tom [Vaughan] share with you will illustrate that point. I was fortunate to work with a group of truly gifted individuals that share the common denominator of a generous heart and wickedly sick sense of humor. This weekend I am screening What Happens in Vegas for my family. It was a unanimous decision that we all needed to share a good laugh. After all that's why we make films like these. So people can leave behind their worries for a couple of hours. Have a good laugh."

Open Statement From M.A.D.D. to LaBeouf
As most of you have already heard, Shia LaBeouf was recently involved in a car accident. The other car apparently ran the red light and hit Shia's truck which then caused it to completely flip over. According to police, LaBeouf was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Both him and his passenger were hurt in the accident, Shia had to have surgery on his hand which then cause delay's in filming his new movie "Transformers 2". To protect the safety of his family and the citizens of his community, Mothers Against Drunk Driving calls on Shia LaBeouf to voluntarily install ignition interlock devices on all vehicles registered in his name, in addition to completing the official punishment/sanctions that may be levied in the event of his conviction for DUI. An ignition interlock is a breath test device linked to a vehicle’s ignition system and is normally mandated to convicted drunk drivers as a condition of probation. We hope Mr. LaBeouf will voluntarily use the opportunity of his DUI arrest to educate his fans – and the country – about this life-saving device by installing the device on his vehicles. Ignition interlocks are proven effective tool in the fight to eliminate drunk driving and save lives.

Cheesy? I'll give you that. Winner? You bet.
What's so cool about a movie about two juvenile lovers? Well, everything! If you are getting tired of all those romantic flicks out there, I think Little Manhattan would be just the breath of fresh air that you need. I was skeptical before I saw this film, but less than halfway through, Little Manhattan had already glued me to my seat. There are quite a number of things that make this movie appealing, but I could name two things that truly made this movie stand out. First, the film was very effective in portraying the innocence the concept of first love without having to appear either too malicious or too childish. This is why, I think Little Manhattan captures even grown up audiences. Second, it also deals with other serious current issues such as divorce and the breakdown of families without being too melodramatic. Little Manhattan is very light mannered in nature, making it quite a relaxing film to watch. This movie is definitely recommendable to everyone including families, couples, puberty age youngsters, kids, single people, et. al. It's a classic in the making and I encourage everyone to see it.

Little Miss Sunshine: a rarity
For those who have seen the film, I am hoping that you loved it. And for those who did not, I urge you to see it. All the painful details aside, the movie is about an eccentric family who makes a road trip on their van to California after the youngest child gets accepted as a contestant into some beauty pageant. The trip in itself is the meat of the film, and I commend the movie creators for being able to squeeze in much insight and quirky humor in such a limited plot.
Little Miss Sunshine is one of the few middle budget films to come out of the silver screen. Today's film industry is polarized between creating high profit and high budget blockbusters and popular sequels, and the really low budget films which can reap huge profits (Blair Witch Project comes to mind). This is indeed a not-so fortunate trend, but of course, corporations only aim to please the consumers. What we demand is what we get. I hope everyone would see Little Miss Sunshine. Let us give medium budget films a shot. Trust me, they're worth our time.

Kate Hudson’s Ex-Husband and Current Boyfriend Manage to Stay Friendly
It looks like some people can stay friendly after a divorce. As for Kate Hudson, she has no ill feelings towards ex-hubby and daddy of her baby, Chris Robinson. Kate, her ex husband Chris, and her new boyfriend, Lance Armstrong shared some time together Wednesday morning at the Los Angeles Palisades Tennis Center. The parents have been taking their kids to youth tennis camp at the center all week long. Hudson and Robinson take their son Ryder, who's 4, and Armstrong takes his 8 year old son, and 6 year old twin daughters. A source on site says about Robinson and Armstrong, "They're like one big happy family. They were just like two guys hanging out being totally cool with each other. If you didn't know the backstory, you would think they were just good pals." Glad to see some people can act civil when it comes to the kids after a divorce.

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren ban their daughter Honor from acting
Jessica Alba has enjoyed a successful movie career, but that doesn't mean she wants her new baby Honor Marie to follow in her footsteps. Don't add baby Honor to the long list of child actors--yet. Jessica Alba and Cash Warren are banning their daughter from acting, at least until she's done with school. Alba says, "When she finishes college, she can do whatever she wants." She added, "I think at some point all little kids express that desire, because they're so used to being treated like a star." It's pretty interesting that they would ban her from acting, but they have no problem selling her out to the press for the right amount. Jessica reportedly got $1.5 million to pimp out her baby on the cover of OK! magazine.

Miami Vice
Ricardo Tubbs is urbane and dead smart. He lives with Bronx-born Intel analyst Trudy, as they work undercover transporting drug loads into South Florida to identify a group responsible for three murders. Sonny Crockett [to the untrained eye, his presentation may seem unorthodox, but procedurally, he is sound] is charismatic and flirtatious until - while undercover working with the supplier of the South Florida group - he gets romantically entangled with Isabella, the Chinese-Cuban wife of an arms and drugs trafficker. The best undercover identity is oneself with the volume turned up and restraint unplugged. The intensity of the case pushes Crockett and Tubbs out onto the edge where identity and fabrication become blurred, where cop and player become one - especially for Crockett in his romance with Isabella and for Tubbs in the provocation of an assault on those he loves.
