Harry Potter movie pushed to next summer

Originally slated to come out in November of this year, the newest silver screen installation of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, will instead be released in July 17 2009. An MTV news article reported that Warner Bros "had reconsidered the timing based on the overall market as well as the recent writers' strike," which had affected the production of scripts. President and CEO of Warner Bros. said that summer is the best season to put out movies like Harry Potter, having the highest prospect of drawing large audiences. There were rumors that production was falling behind schedule, but Warner Bros. dismissed this saying that the next Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, will come out on the date its is promised to be released. In fact, the release delay was actually viewed positively by some Harry Potter fans because "'the gap will now be shortened between the release of 'Half-Blood Prince' and the first installment of 'Deathly Hallows'."
