Sonic Unleashed

The trill and excitement a child or even adult had when playing the original Sonic game was priceless. Sonic the Hedgehog made his debut on the Sega Genesis in 1991. Sonic became one of the world's best-known video game characters, with his series having sold 45 million copies. The great success came from the fun and humorous battles that reached to many people's hearts.

The Sonic legacy continued and in the next year Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was released. With a sidekick introduced, it out sold the first release. Then in 1998 Sonic became the first to take place in a fully 3D world, aping the achievements of Mario 64 two years earlier, and it was the first to feature a full voice cast.

Sonic did fall in 2003 when the critics disliked the effects and plot. Society was shifting to a different stage considering the new hit games were Grand Theft Auto and Halo. So as a result, Sonic introducing Shadow the Hedgehog in 2005. It failed miserably. The new Hedgehog swore, used guns, well the complete opposite to Sonic. The public wasn't a fan of the change and completely ignored it.

Realizing their big mistake, Sega turned to the more friendlier side and team up with Mario for a friendly competition at the the Beijing Olympics.

Out this year, Sonic Chronicles sees noted Knights of the Old Republic, which is a real new departure for the series. Sonic the Hedgehog has gone through many changes, but the adventures and trill is certainly worthwhile.
