Oscar Watch: Benjamin Button Up, Down

When I first saw this commercial, I was a little bit confused as to how a old man could get younger and younger! It really amazed me and I really want to see this movie! Come on, it stars Brad Pitt! How awesome is that. haha These kind of movies really amaze me! And I want to see Seven Pounds as well! (= Anyway, back to this movie, I think this is awesome and Brad Pitt looks even better when it's a vintage kind of setting! haha I hope that this movie goes far and inspires different people in all shapes and sizes! (= What Brad Pitt Needed: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button scored a solid-enough Christmas Day box office debut for a studio prestige picture. No, it wasn't Marley & Me, but, more important, it wasn't Valkyrie.

What He Didn't Need: A fairly scathing review in Oscarville's hometown paper, the Los Angeles Times. For what it's worth, the film's overall Rotten Tomatoes rating stood at 75 percent on Friday.

Why It's Especially Important to Have a Good Weekend This Weekend: Nomination ballots for the 81st Academy Awards were sent out Friday.

Bella's Big Shot? No, Twilight isn't an awards-season player, but another film featuring Kristen Stewart really, really wants to be. The L.A. Times has the story on the indie drama The Yellow Handkerchief, which is getting its Academy-required, weeklong run in Los Angeles (well, Encino) thanks to its producer, who paid for the screen time.

Fake Marriage between Speidi?!

I don't get why Heidi can't see past Spencer. He's such a jerk and I don't see anything compassionate about him. And I'm sick of it, but I love watching the show. I don't get it. haha I think that the whole marriage ordeal was just to get money out of the publicity if that's possible. Spencer doesn't even do anything! haha He's just living off his 1 year fame. haha Brace yourselves, Hills fans: There's a chance that the Speidi wedding no one bought (unless you count whatever Us Weekly paid for that cover) may end up being legally binding after all.

That is, if Spencer Pratt can be trusted. And that's a mighty big if.

Despite mounting evidence the fun couple's alleged courthouse ceremony, endlessly teased on MTV's latest Hills promos, is shaping up to be as legit as their Mexican marital maneuvers, Pratt himself is trying to set the record straight.

"We checked the confidentiality box, so good luck people," he told E! News' Ryan Seacrest in an interview that will air Monday on his KIIS-FM radio show.

But that's not necessarily the case...

Aside from trying to believe that Pratt and his maybe-missus, Heidi Montag, would ever try to keep anything on the down-low, per California law, every marriage is public record. Pratt's vaunted confidentiality box merely keeps the wedding date private, not the record of the actual blessed event.

And so far there is none.

"We can confirm a confidential marriage if it's one that exists," a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder tells E! News. "We don't have anything for them in the system."

While the preview for next Monday's Hills season finale shows the duo standing before a judge and Montag spouting what appear to be traditional vows, the clip appears to be like much of the show: staged "reality."

Los Angeles Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini confirmed to E! News that MTV was granted permission to film in the Beverly Hills courthouse. But the session took place after regular business hours and, per Parachini, the ceremony that played out in the Hills preview clip is not typical—or, like their Mexican vows—legally binding.

"We can confirm that the wedding, or whatever it was, that occurred in the Beverly Hills Courthouse was Mr. Pratt and Ms. Montag," Parachini told E! News. "What the outcome was or what happened during the ceremony is none of the court's business. It was a private matter. I don't know what transpired.

"All I know is what MTV said...a news-related shoot."

Parachini also noted that the judge seemingly presiding over the affair was not associated with the L.A. court system. He did not know what association the man might have.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice...

When I moved out on my own about 6 months ago, I had to learned many things, such as paying the bills, water, rent, electric. I had to figure out a means a living. I had to learn to get by without the comfort and cushion of running home at the end of the day to my parents. Learning to live on my own was no joke. To add to my list of "MUST LEARN" was cooking. I knew I had to cook to save money. I also had to learn to cook because I wanted to be in control of the kinds of foods I ate. Learning to cook was one of the more fun things I had to learn. One of the lessons I learned on cooking was the role that spices can play into the flavors of your food.

Not only does spice add flavor, I was even more thrilled when I learned that most spices are actually good for you! It just makes sense. Spices have been around since the beginning of time. Ancient recipes have called for its flavors and health benefits, paprika, cinnamon, chili, and cumin to name a few are such wonderful spices with fabulous flavors. The only catch to using spices is you have to learn how to use it. Where, when, and how much of each spice should be added for a certain recipe.

What is so beneficial about spices? Victor Thomas writes about the Medicinal Importance of Spices. He states, "Scientists have done a lot of research on this and have found out that spices contain more antioxidants than fruits and vegetables." He claims that half a teaspoon of spices can amount to more antioxidants than half a cup of fruit. Cloves, allspice, cinnamon, rosemary, and thyme are some of the spices he lists as having amounts antioxidant.

Don't believe him? Do the research yourself, you'll be happy to find hundreds of articles on the benefits of spices. But the fact that it can add so much flavor and uniqueness to a dish and cut down on the amount of salt and butter is reason enough for me to incorporate spices in my dishes!

Bring Back Classic Christmas!

It's that time again! You know, the lights, the trees, the bells, the snow, the music, the fat jolly man with all the gifts, it's Christmas time! I love Christmas. In fact, I love all the fall/winter holidays, Halloween, Thanksgving, Christmas and New Years. I may be one of those annoying people who seem to always celebrate too early. People have there reasons for enjoying the holidays. Mine may not be too far off from others. I love spending time with my family, I love the food, the decorations. It always seems like when that time comes around, people get busy(but in a good way). They suddenly have to think about others and what gifts to buy. Uh-oh, suddenly all the holiday cheer stops. Buying gifts means spending money, spending money means grouchy people, and grouchy people equals no Christmas spirit.

This year, it is no suprise to anyone that the economy is in trouble. Talks of recession, unemployment rates at record highs, homes being foreclosed left and right, Christmas may be the last thing on people's minds. In an article by Dan Schaeffer, "In Search of the Christmas Spirit," he writes about a man who looks for Christmas Spirit at the Christmas tree lots, but all he found were mortgage bankers looking for trees for their office. The man continues to look for the Christmas spirit at the local mall. His search leads him to a mall employee. And she tells him, "It's in your Heart. It's warm and glowy...you can't buy it at any store. It's in your heart."

When did Christmas become so commercial? When did department stores and newpapers adds take over? And why have we allowed them? I want to bring back what Christmas was about. Family time, hope, faith, and good spirits and kinds hearts. As a child I enjoyed watching the holiday classics on TV like Roudolph the Red Noise Reindeer, Santa Claus is coming to Town, and Frosty the Snow Man. I even remember the Calico Cat. Now, it's all about the dysfunctional family getting together at Christmas time. To me it gets old, all the fighting the hating. Movies are suppose to take you away from reality, not remind you of it. Especially during the holidays. Show me the magic, the snow, the reindeers, the warmth and love! Bring back the Classical Christmas!

Into the Wild

Once in a while a movie comes along that actually makes you stop and think. It reaches into your mind and soul and makes you question what you're doing in your own life. I came upon that movie a few weeks ago when I decided to rent, "Into the Wild."

The trailer captured my interest. A boy jaded from the new-aged world, escapes to the wilderness to discover himself. I watched the movie under the impression that I would get some laughs and possibly some suspense. The movie ended with me in silence. I needed a few moments to capture the meaning of it.

After watching this movie, I actually looked at life differently. Maybe not drastically, but it did make me sad for the people speeding along the freeways, or the busy-bodies rushing along the sidewalks of downtown. It made me appreciate and respect nature her power, and her glorious gifts to us.

Ofcourse I won't spoil the ending for those who have not seen it. Don't watch it expecting a light-hearted movie. It's definitely not that kind of movie. But watch it with an open mind and appreciate it's story to us.

Miley Cyrus: A Real Icon?

In my opinion, I personally love watching Hanna Montana, but I absolutely despise Miley Cyrus. I think that she grew up way too fast and that she is taking her fame for granted. The conver of her on Vanity Fair was not the only "provocative" photo out there. If you take a look at her pictures on her myspace, I mean what kind of example is that for all the kids that look up to her? It's most defintely not a good one. And on to of that, her voice when she is singing live is absolutely horrifying! Miley Cyrus issued a statement exclusively to PEOPLE on Sunday, apologizing for a series of playfully provocative photos that circulated on the Internet last week, as well as those from a racy, as-yet unreleased Vanity Fair photo shoot in which she appears to be nude.

The singer, 15, tells PEOPLE: "My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."

A source close to the singer tells PEOPLE that Cyrus is clothed but shown by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz in such a way that that the teen appears to be topless.

In the photos that circulated on the Internet, Cyrus, her midriff exposed, is shown draped over the lap of her then-boyfriend, her producer's son. In another image, a hint of a green bra is evident. (Those photos alone prompted criticism from conservative TV commentator Bill O'Reilly, as well as words of support from the Jonas Brothers and a fellow Disney star.)

Cyrus goes on to say: "The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots. I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone.

"Most of all," she says, "I have let myself down. I will learn from my mistakes and trust my support team. My family and my faith will guide me through my life's journey."

Jennifer Hudson's Brother in Law Charged for Family Slayings

I mean who does this? this is pretty sick. And I feel horrible for Jennifer Hudsons family. I don't see why a person who is connected to the family do that! I mean.. that's just a horrible act to pull as a family member. Especially shooting a mother, a son, and a young nephew. they still all had so much life to live! It's been more than a month since the shooting deaths of Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew, but the case is picking up steam.

A day after his arrest, Hudson's estranged brother-in-law, William Balfour, was formally charged this morning with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of home invasion by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.

The 27-year-old Balfour, who has been the sole focus of the Chicago Police Department's investigation from day one, is scheduled to appear for a bond hearing Wednesday afternoon.

Until then, Balfour's attorney, Joshua Kutnick, is wasting no time in defending his client, telling E! News that while Balfour may be a convenient suspect, he's not a guilty one.

"They were under pressure because William is scheduled for a parole hearing tomorrow and, if successful, he would have been released," Kutnick said.

"The police have built this case on what some people may say...I strongly contend that these witnesses that are giving information to the police are not to be believed. They are self-serving statements."

Among those statements, presumably, are some given by Balfour's girlfriend, who not only told police he owned a weapon resembling the .45-caliber gun tied to the shootings but that he even confessed to her he had committed the murders.

Balfour has been held in custody since Oct. 26, two days after the tragic murders.

Britney's Back

I know it's weird, but I've been watching a lot about Britney and how she has been turning her life around. If you really think about it, you can't blame her for doing all the crazy things she does. I mean people are on her 24/7 and if I were her, I would go crazy as well. People don't get it. I mean I'm not even a Britney fan, yet I still feel bad that she's followed every where she goes just because any little dirt is like "$$$$$" to every camera man out there.

A Britney Spears Comeback Tour wouldn’t quite be the same without a Rolling Stone cover—especially since the mag helped launch her underage sex-kitten image back in ’99 and then documented her Frapp-guzzling, pap-loving downfall just this past February.

Rolling Stone’s job now, along with everyone else in the Brit camp, is to reassure all of us that Old Britney is totally back and ready to rock this Circus! They accomplish this with a relatively tame, Parade-esque cover showing off Brit’s flat stomach and big blond mane. In fact, the only tangible evidence the article ever provides that Old Britney is back forreal is her blond hair.

The article itself echoes Brit's previous complaints that her life is like Groundhog Day. The interviewer sticks to preapproved questions as a Brit-guard hovers and the pop star hints at how bored she is...

"I feel like an old person now,” she mentions. “I go to bed at, like, 9:30 every night, and I don’t go out or anything, you know what I mean? I just feel like an old fart.”

When she does go out on something like a date—and she is dating, because her manager Larry Rudolph has decided a boyfriend is the next step in Brit’s recovery—she is accompanied by her own assistant and a colleague of Rudolph’s. Needless to say, things aren’t working out too well in that department.

But maybe that has something to do with a little bit of K-Fed hostility she's holding on to. Talking about her boys and the importance of being a mom, she says, “I didn’t think my husband was gonna leave me, otherwise, I’d be with my babies 24/7.” She also blames her ex for the bad language the boys seemed to have picked up recently. “It’s weird ‘cause they’re starting to learn words like ‘stupid,’ and Preston says the F-word now sometimes. He doesn’t get it from us. He must get it from his daddy.”

Heidi & Spencer Elope

Jesus, I've seriously had enough of these two...

Well, they did it. And in true Speidi style, what the most important day of their lives lacked in loved ones, it apparently more than made up for in cameras.

Which, come to think of it, could be Speidi's most beloved ones of all.

While until now reports of a Heidi Montag-Spencer Pratt union were nothing more than speculation, Us Weekly has confirmed that the duo quietly—quietly inasmuch as they waited four days before trumpeting the news on the cover of a weekly tabloid—tied the knot in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, last Thursday.

"The minute we said our vows, I couldn't stop crying," the 22-year-old Hills bride told the magazine.

Tears of joy, we presume.

As for their clueless friends and family members, Montag said she dropped hints to her mother prior to the ceremony that something big might be happening. Her mother, unfortunately, failed to pick them up.

After speaking on the phone with Mama Montag, the reality star said, "Her reaction was to ask me if we were breaking up!"

Upon hinting that her relationship was likely heading in a more positive direction, her mother imparted one final word of wisdom.

"She said, 'Well, if you ever plan on getting married just know that your stepdad is really upset that you want your father to walk you down the aisle'…She was starting so much drama, it kind of pushed me toward wanting to get married without that.

"I don't know when I'll tell her."

Something tells us the conversation may no longer be necessary.

Excuse me while I go watch trees grow...

Change is Coming to Prime Time!

We all kenw that race was an issue to begin with. But with Obama's new presidency, the topic is more on the rise! Will Change be coming to Prime Time? Very hard to say, but from reading Perez Hilton's article it's a most definite. You gotta love Politics and Hollywood for bringing Obama into a state of fame. haha
Hollywood's looking to make some money on the back of 'change'!

Lo and behold, NBC is developing a comedy based on the book Making Friends With Black People, reports Variety.

The show will be formulated as a buddy comedy focusing on the state of race relations in the U.S.

The story will center on two guys — one African-American and one white — who become close friends, but who don't necessarily see things the same way.

The book's author, Nick Adams, said, "From time to time, race bubbles up in the consciousness of the country and then dissipates. Now, with Obama, people are talking about race a lot more. We hope to capitalize on that and not let the dialogue die down. … It seemed like a good opportunity to strike while the iron is hot."

Sisters?

I dont know abotu the rest of you but I love Christina Aguilera's new song and her new look too. But I couldn't help to wonder, "Doesn't she look a lot like Lady Gaga"? Maybe Lady Gaga inspired Xtina in some way. If i were Gaga, I would be extremely flattered. Lady Gaga even made the statement to Blender mag:
"A lot of people have been saying that she is copying my style with her new song. I guess it bares somewhat of a resemblance but I wouldn't say she is copying me. This type of dance music is becoming more popular and I don't blame her for wanting to make and perform it. Her performance was great and it's (Keeps Gettin Better) a hot track."

But the statement is no where to be found on the Blender website. The only place you can find it is on Christina Aguilera's fansite. Hmm, coincidence? I think not! Probably some crazy Xtina fan made up the statement in order to separate Aguilera from Gaga.

Well now Christina herself is speaking out about Lady Gaga and the "rumors" surrounding the two of them, things got real ugly. Chrisitina Aguilera said in an interview to LA Times:
"What did you say to those on the Internet who are hinting that you borrowed Lady Gaga’s look?

You know, that’s funny that you mention that. This person [Lady Gaga] was just brought to my attention not too long ago. I’m not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don’t know if it is a man or a woman. I just wasn’t sure. I really don’t spend any time on the Internet, so I guess I live a little under a rock in that respect."

Ouch! The claws are out!

The picture above is of Lady Gaga released sometime in March/April.
The picture below is Xtina, released in October...

The resemblance is just too much deny Xtina!

Kanye West Arrested, AGAIN...

Oh Kanye, when will you ever learn? Kanye was arrested early Friday morning in the U.K. for abusing a paparazzi, AGAIN!

The Press Association news agency and others reported that that the 31-year-old rapper was detained early Friday after an incident involving a photographer outside the Tup Tup Palace bar in Newcastle, northern England. Police said only that a 31-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of assault after an incident at a nightclub. They said he was later released without charge. British police do not usually identify suspects who have not been charged.

The Tup Tup Palace said West visited the club after his gig in Newcastle Thursday but could not confirm the arrest. APPARENTLY, he was leaving the night club with 4 ladies on his arm and he did not want the paparazzi to see him. A spokeswoman for West did not immediately return a call seeking comment. West was arrested last month at Los Angeles International Airport after he was filmed struggling with a paparazzo. He was not charged. West is playing dates around Britain as part of his Glow in the Dark tour. I think someone needs anger management classes. Hope you learned your lesson this time Kanye!

Hilary Duff Back to TV

What do you do when your movie career and your singing career isn't so hot anymore, you go back to your roots! That's what Hilary Duff is doing, she's going back to TV. Duff has signed a one-year development deal with NBC.

Duff will meet with writers at NBC to come up a show that will be suitable for her. Our guesses is that it will be asitcom. In addition to her new show, she will also make several guest appearences on other sitcoms on NBC.

I dont know if any of you readers remember but I remember that Hilary was set in another sitcom on CBS, unfortuently it was never picked up by the network. Hopefully, this new sitcom (or drama whatever you want to call it) will get picked up by the infamous peacock network.

NO ON PROP 8

Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy is one of many celebs who are voting against Proposition 8. Although the Propisition has arleady been passed, Gays are not giving up. I think that this is a contraversal issue that touches a different part of our heart. It's either, "wrong because God doesn't say so" or "EQUALITY FOR ALL" I was actually in my psychology class and we were discussing this. It's true, that the politicians shouldn't be involved in this. Passing this law means that Gay couples will effect others? If you are against same sex marriages, then don't marry the same sex as you. If it don't bother you, then WHY BOTHER AT ALL?

Pete Wentz says voters were deceived into voting for Proposition 8, the ballot initiative seeking to overturn California's legalization of gay marriage.

"Many people were intimidated on this issue due to the scary misleading communications on the other side," Wentz said in a statement. "I believe that this is, and has always been, a civil rights issue. We should not allow inequality like this in America."

Ellen DeGeneres has also been a vocal opponent to Prop 8.
DeGeneres, who married girlfriend Portia de Rossi shortly after the state's supreme court ruled in favor of same-sex unions, talked about Prop 8 on her show and with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show. She blogged on her official website to urge voters to reject it, and she even paid for her own public service announcements to run on television.

DeGeneres still has hope that the initiative ultimately will fail. Asked if she'd be making a statement, the talk-show host's rep said she's not talking "until all the absentees and early votes are in."

Standup Comedy takes seat infront of the Computer Review

Stand up Comedy is rapidly growing throughout the internet world! Believe it or not it is. Youtube Videos take a good part of the Stand up Comedy selection and it's not going anywhere. Comedy has moved out of the clubs and into the internet.. will this possibly slow down creativity for othe comedians? Perhaps this is another step for the new grown community of Comedians that they should try to overcome and win it. It's another obstacle that they should at least try to take action on. I found a great article that says all of this and much more into detail!
YouTube may be the big box store of Internet videos, but there are lots and lots of sites that people can go to for a chuckle. Sometimes the comedy comes in the form of rehearsed sketches, sometimes it’s a standup routine, sometimes it’s an improvised skit. They have all found their places amid the reality-based clips of skateboarding squirrels and rapping toddlers.

But is this comic migration having an adverse effect on the comedy itself?

Kevin Pollak started doing standup comedy at the age of 10. He eventually navigated his way through the nightclub gauntlet as a comedian toward a thriving career as an impressionist and actor (“The Usual Suspects” and “Casino,” among many others). He said the response from live audiences was critical to his development, and may be an element missing in many current-day Internet artists.

“I think I agree in theory in terms of what’s missing from comedy on the Internet,” he said. “For me, coming up in San Francisco, it was all about finding my voice on stage in front of an audience. I can’t imagine developing a point of view by just submitting work on the Internet and checking blogs.

“But it’s happening and it’s a new generation.”

Couple Admits to Offering Drugs to Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse has a one of a kind voice. Her voice is very urban soulful and unique. Most definitely no one could ever copy her songs or make a cover. Will drugs really effect her career? If you really think about it, drugs could mess up a normal persons life..imagine a music star? Even her own father wonders if drugs will kill her. I found this article on a british couple that apparently sold drugs to her. They didn't charge Winehouse but the police did charge the couple for selling the drugs.
A British couple who sold video footage of singer Amy Winehouse apparently smoking crack to a newspaper have pleaded guilty to drug charges. Johnny Blagrove and Cara Burton admitted in court Friday they offered to supply drugs, including cocaine and ecstasy, to Winehouse. Prosecutors say the pair covertly filmed Winehouse and sold the footage to The Sun newspaper. In January the paper published the images, which appeared to show the singer smoking crack cocaine.Detectives decided there was not enough evidence to charge Winehouse but they charged the couple. Prosecutor Sean Larkin says police who raided the couple’s home found a list of celebrities they supplied with drugs, including Winehouse.

A judge ordered the couple to return Nov. 28 for sentencing.

Hudson suspect had June drug arrest

The convicted felon suspected in the Chicago slayings of Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew was arrested on a drug charge in June, but authorities declined to return him to prison on a parole violation, internal parole records show.

Corrections Department spokesman Derek Schnapp said officials who reviewed the cocaine-possession case against William Balfour determined "the evidence that was presented during that time wouldn't have necessarily warranted a violation."

A judge dismissed the charge for lack of probable cause in July, but under the strict rules of the state's parole program, Balfour could have gone back to prison just for the arrest.

No one has been charged in the shooting deaths of Hudson's mother, 57-year-old Darnell Donerson, her brother, 29-year-old Jason Hudson, and 7-year-old nephew Julian King.
The older victims were found in the family's home Friday afternoon. Julian's body was found in the back of an SUV on Chicago's West Side on Monday; authorities declared his death a homicide Tuesday.

Around the time the first bodies were found, Balfour's parole agent had reached him by phone after Balfour missed a meeting with him that day. Balfour told the agent he was "baby-sitting on the West Side of Chicago," according to the documents, obtained by The Associated Press.

The agent said he thought he heard a child in the background during the call. Balfour was taken into custody later Friday.

Balfour, Julian's stepfather and the estranged husband of Hudson's sister, served seven years for attempted murder and vehicular hijacking.

The Illinois Department of Corrections issued a warrant for Balfour on Saturday for violating terms of his parole by possessing a weapon and failing to attend anger management counseling and a substance abuse program, according to his parole history report.

The records indicate a parole supervisor declined to issue a warrant to revoke Balfour's parole after Chicago police arrested him June 19 for possession of cocaine.

Jumped the Shark

It happens to the best of television shows. After a few strong seasons, a series takes a wrong turn that fans find unforgivable. This is known as the moment the show "jumped the shark." Sometimes it's just one goofy episode, like on "Happy Days" when Fonzie competed in a water skiing competition during which he had to pull off the ridiculous stunt of jumping over a shark (hence the phrase). Other times, it can be an entire plot shift that completely ruins the show. Remember when the working-class Conner family won the lottery and "Roseanne" became unwatchable?

Well this Fall many new shows started and there are a couple that were just plain disappointing.

1. "America's Next Top Model" is the show that it might have been done with a while ago. Its the same thing even season. The only thing that is keeping this show alive is the crazy stunts that Tiara does. But this season it may just be over done.

2. Nobody knows better than “Project Runway” that one day you’re in and the next day you’re out. Honestly, there aren't many shows that we've loved more; with its casts of outrageously talented designers tasked to create runway-worthy masterpieces, we’ve been diehard fans season after season. But when they kicked off Season 5 with a repeat challenge from Season 1, the lack of creativity was immediately apparent (in both the contestants as well as the show’s producers). And once the show rolled out the Saturn cars (a sponsor of the show) and asked the contestants to design something using car parts, the shark was officially jumped.

3. "Prison Break" has been the all time favorite for many but at the end of Season 2 they jumped the shark. Somehow Michael ended up in prison in Panama, Lincoln was the one on the outside, and this time Michael had to be broken out. Enough already! We’ve endured way too much; from the “deceased” Sara coming back to life to T-Bags ridiculous situations, this show needs to be locked up and the key thrown away.

Brenda Song: Miley Cyrus is a Good Diva.

As much as I love Brenda Song, I really despise Miley Cyrus. I think she's too much and I've seen her live on t.v. with the MTV music awards. She really wanted to win the new artist award and she made sure that Katy Perry and Taylor Swift knew of that. I'm glad she didn't win for it, because her head would have gotten bigger than it already is. Even with her many bad rumors about her myspace pictures, isn't that enough for everyone to know she is a bad role model? I know Brenda Song is just saying that, she's the one with the real heart od gold!

The recent series of possibly racy Miley Cyrus photos has led to a stern defense of the Hannah Montana actress by Joe Jonas, a tongue lashing by Bill O'Reilly and a spirited debate among readers of The Hollywood Gossip.

Chime in with your opinion on Cyrus and these pics NOW.

That's what Brenda Song, star of the Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, has done. She had the following to say about this breaking scandal:

"Miley is probably the most charismatic and strong 15-year-old I know. She brushes everything off with a smile. She is truly a diva â€" in a very good way!

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Heading to the Altar?

After the huge drama about the break up with Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston the drama as pretty much faded. Brad moved on to the beautiful Angelina Jolie and connected as one in moments. Now as parents to Maddox, 7, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2 and 3-month-old twins, Knox and Vivienne, the media have been waiting on a marriage.

"When we first met I already had a child," Jolie tells the new issue of Italian Vanity Fair. "We didn't live together and we adopted Zahara. Usually people fall in love and and everything revolves around people getting married. Children are an afterthought."

"We've done everything the wrong way around, but sooner or later the children will ask, you know, they watch films and ask questions," Jolie, 33, said. "They want to know why Shrek and Fiona got married and we haven't."

Pitt has said he won't marry Jolie until gay marriage is made legal. Personally, this is quite odd. Are they just together because they are tired of the couple and marriage thing or because they truly love each other? Well Angelina and Brad are now hitting that they might be heading to the altar. But do you think they will just do it for they children? Or is it because they truly want to get married?

Michael Jackson Steps Out for Skin Care

The King of Pop has finally stepped out of the cave! I don't think that anyone has seen him in awhile but here he is! The kind of disease he has is Vitiligo. Throughout the end of the 1980s, Michael Jackson's skin grew paler. I remember my brother telling me that the reason why he was white is because he has always wanted to be white. Now I know that it isn't true! haha I think it's a sad thing what Jackson has to go through. But that didn't stop Jackson from being the King of Pop. But I felt like that he grew kind of insane after that with the whole Home Alone kid and the baby over the balcony ordeal.
Jackson's skin was a medium-brown color for the entire duration of his youth, but starting in the early 1980s, his skin gradually grew paler. This change gained widespread media coverage, including rumors that Jackson was bleaching his skin.[4] In the mid-1980s, Jackson was diagnosed with vitiligo and lupus; the latter is in remission in Jackson's case, both illnesses make him sensitive to sunlight. The treatments he uses for his condition further lighten his skin tone, and, with the application of pancake makeup to even out blotches, he can appear very pale.[47] The structure of his face has changed as well; several surgeons have speculated that Jackson had undergone multiple nasal surgeries, a forehead lift, thinned lips and a cheekbone surgery.[48] Changes to his face were, in part, due to periods of significant weight loss.[13] Jackson became slimmer in the early 1980s because of a change in diet and a desire for "a dancer's body".[49] Witnesses reported that Jackson was often dizzy and speculated that he was suffering from anorexia nervosa; periods of weight loss would became a recurring problem for the singer later in life.[50] Some medical professionals have publicly stated their belief that the singer has body dysmorphic disorder, a psychological condition whereby the sufferer has no concept of how they are perceived by others.[51]

My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way’s "Umbrella Academy" Film

With news of My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way’s “Umbrella Academy” headed for development over at Universal, Splash Page looked back to a recent interview we did with the fanboy-turned-rock star-turned-comic writer on what he hopes happens with a potential “Umbrella Academy” film. The question that comes to mind, Way ready?

“It’s a pretty recent development,” explained Way from an interview from the floor of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. “Mike Richardson, who runs Dark Horse and owns it, just signed a three picture deal with Universal because he has a great relationship with them from ‘Hellboy,’ and the first film that he wanted to get made – that they wanted to option – was ‘Umbrella Academy.’”

For those of you in need of a refresher course, Way describes “Umbrella Academy” as, “A post-modern superhero story – not a ’superhero comic.’ It’s the story of seven extraordinary individuals adopted and raised by a closet space alien [named Sir Reginald Hargreeves] – poorly – to save the world from nobody knows what.”

Yet as excited as Way is for an “Umbrella Academy” film, the unabashed comic geek who was once an intern at DC Comics and graduated from New York’s School of Visual Arts with a degree in cartooning, is quick to say that he hopes that a few more volumes of “Umbrella Academy” can hit shelves before a film hits theaters.

“You know how it goes, you wanna see it happen so you get really excited, but you gotta kinda be patient,” said Way. “By the time the film comes out, I think we’ll be on series four [of 'Umbrella Academy'] which I think is important. I think if a movie came out right now, we only have one series under our belt, and it’s not enough mythology out there.”

As far as the aforementioned “mythology” Way mentions, it could mean scenes that he wanted to work into “Umbrella Academy” stories but couldn’t due to the limited amount of space on a monthly comic.

PARIS = Mc Cain as BRITNEY = OBAMA

Yupp! Our blondes have said their opinion. I found this article to be quite interesting because you don't see a lot of media (blonde celebs especially) to be concerned with politics and especially the election. I read the comments from people who read this article saying that Britney is messed up in the head and obviously doesn't know what she is thinking. But isn't Paris the same too? Come on, we're all a little messed up in the head, no one is perfect! "What we decided to do is find the top three international celebrities in the world, and I would say from our indications, Britney and Paris came in second and third," said campaign manager Rick Davis. "Will people think of this as negative advertising? Look, it is the most entertaining thing I have seen on TV in a while." He went on: "It is not our campaign that is trying to make him into an international celebrity. It's his campaign... I don't know Paris Hilton and Britney Spears but they are international celebrities, so, you know, apples to apples."

In the end, the ad may tell voters as much about McCain as it does the Illinois Democrat. It was not too long ago that McCain's campaign released a memo -- authored by Rick Davis -- saying it was "critical" to "run a respectful campaign focused on the issues," no matter which the Democratic nominee emerged. Since then, the presumptive Republican nominee has launched attacks on Obama's patriotism, has blamed his opponent for high gas prices, and has accused him of willfully snubbing the troops.

Update: Obama himself has responded: "You know, I don't pay attention to John McCain's ads, although I do notice he doesn't seem to have anything to say very positive about himself. He seems to only be talking about me... You need to ask John McCain what he's for and not just what he's against."

Interview: Secret Life Of Bees Featuring Queen Latifah

As August Boatwright in The Secret Life of Bees, Latifah translates her immense energy and warmth into a maternal strength, playing the oldest of three sisters who take in a white orphan and her black caretaker at the height of the Civil Rights movement. She talked with a room full of admiring journalists about playing a black female character who isn't a stereotype, cooperating with her bee co-stars, and toward the end, things got a little political. Queen Latifah wants you to know you have no idea who she'll vote for in that voting booth!

How was working with the bees?
I was like, look guys, I'm not gonna smash one of y'all. Just don't sting me. And they were very fine to me, since they get moody sometimes, especially when it's cold outside. And we shot on some kind of chilly days.

How did you get yourself into the more emotional moments of the story?
Music is very important to me. I connect probably quicker through music than I do through any other medium. I could literally play one verse of a Clark Sisters record, or eights bars, and something strikes me in such a way that it brings me right there. Usually I'm looking to some type of gospel, which tends to get right to my spirit. This movie, I can honestly say, I was so present. I was so in August's body. It was like, I know this person. I felt like these are my sisters. This is where we live, this is what we do, Zach is my godson, all these women are my friends. I just felt her. I felt connected to where we were, what was going on at that moment. Like I said, more than any film that I've done in a long time.

Did you have relatives or ancestors who personally experienced the Civil Rights movement? No, not really. I'm not related to any black person in the country... of course I got relatives! [The entire room bursts out laughing] My dad works with me on a lot of movies. Any question I had, I can just ask him, for someone who was actually around at that time. I also kind of grew up in the South. My grandmother and my aunts and uncles, a lot of them were from Maryland and Virginia. I experienced some racism in New York. Just go try to get a cab, you'll feel it. They'll pass me and pick you up. That immediately connects you to how painful it is. That's the kind of things that affected me as a kid.

Mariah Carey still Battles Racism?

As a Filipino, I've heard a lot of things about Mariah Carey against Filipinos or generally speaking ASIANS. I'm not that offended though, because I personally don't know her. And I wouldn't stop listening to her music because of it. But does she fight her own racist battles? There are tons of articles stating that people forget that she's half Irish and half African American. Yet I think that she's being a hypocrite saying that people are sometimes ignorant. How could she possibly say that when she offends another race. I think that's very contradicting of her to say that especially having it on articles. I think that someone should put her on check too. Maybe this is karma for what she said and what she called Asians or Filipino (still not verified)"Brown Monkeys"

ContactMusic.com reports that Mariah Carey often has to scold people for making racially insensitive remarks. The singer, whose mother Patricia is Irish-American, and late father Alfred Roy was African-American said, “I’m in a room a lot of times with only white people, and they forget and say things that are offensive - and I have to put them in check. And I’m sitting there and I’m thinking I’m either going to have to leave or I’m going to have to talk about it. After travelling the world, I think racism, or ignorance, is everywhere. It’s in the US, Italy, France. Even in certain Latin American countries, where it’s a very mixed society.”

GOSSIP GOSSIP GOSSIP

Could Jennifer and John Mayer light the flame? We all have to admit she's pretty lucky from moving to Brad Pitt to John Mayer! Even after a good heartbreak after Pitt, she and John Mayer have been getting more rumors than ever.. right? I don't they do enough on Jennifer after the break up. Now it's all about Jolie and Brad. haha it's sad but true. If you really thinkg about it.. when do you really know that a celeb couple is really together? Hard to say, but I think that they could be getting back together.. but who knows.. anything is a possiblity!
"They looked like they were having a fantastic time," says one observer of the Saturday night dinner. A source close to John adds, "They were hanging out this weekend."

Aniston, 39, in New York on business, dined with Mayer, 30, on oysters, ravioli with mushrooms and black truffles and fish. The actress returned to Los Angeles on Monday.

Even though his summer romance with Aniston is now a thing of the past, Mayer, according to a friend, is "someone who is known for staying connected to people he cares about and for staying friends with people he's been linked to."

Not everyone remains convinced a re-match might be a good thing. Says one pal: "If they are back together, Jen is not bragging about it to her friends."

Ford Keeps his Indy Title

Remember all those rumors that Shia LaBeouf might end up taking over from Harrison Ford as the new Indiana Jones? Ford put a nail in the notion of that coffin in an interview, and there is no way is he giving up his hat to a kid.

Ford says that not only are there no plans to transition the franchise to Shia in the future and, “that's never been [the idea]. As George has famously said, we'd have to call it 'Mutt Jones: The Search for Elvis.' [Laughs.] I think it just doesn't work that way.”

Indiana Jones is a classic adventure. It has been out for the longest time, and with Shia LaBeouf in it now, it does add a little spice. The old and new adventures are anticipated by the public and loved by the viewers. However, it does not mean it should be changed to ruling out the man and star of movie.

Unfortunately, that probably does not mean the franchise won’t still go on, just with more of the aching, creaking, increasingly CGI’s Harrison Ford in his traditional role. Given the choice between Mutt Jones and the Search for Elvis or Indiana Jones and the Colostomy Bag of Doom, we might all have been better off if they’d gone with Mutt Jones. At least Mutt does not wear comfortable, sensible, static-free grandpa pants.

Angelina Beats Down the Rumors

Lately, if you picked up a mag, ANY MAGAZINE (particularly the tabloids), you would see blasted across the front page on how Angelina Jolie is going through depression and how she is so stressed and how she is just so overwhelmed. Well Angelina has gone on the record to smash those rumors to the ground. In an exclusive, new interview with Hello! magazine, Angelina Jolie firmly denies rumors that she is overwhelmed with the kiddies or that her relationship with Brad is in the pits.

Angelina says that she and her family don't pay much attention to rumors, because their lives are full of rainbows and puppies and bake sales and unicorns and lots and lots of money. "We have fun, we have each other, and we have a lot of love in our life," says Jolly Jolie. "And anybody who has love in their life has something that is much more important than anything else" - even those nasty rumors. And what about the 3-month-old twins? Angelina says, "They're good babies, and pretty much on schedule. They pretty much eat every three hours, so I've arranged breaks in my day around that." Of course Her Royal Perfection would have perfect, punctual children.
She talks about how she loves to watch the twins interact, and adds, "You reach a point where you almost think that to have one baby alone would be kind of lonely."

Like all other parents, the family struggles to balance work, play, and the kids, saying that when they go out - which is no small affair - they find it easier to hang with other parents because other parents are "more respectful of our privacy than many people because they understand what it's like just to want to be with your kids. Parents are much kinder to us than some other members of the public." But of course, people still want to take pictures, and when the kids ask why, Brad and Ange tell them it's because of their parents' particular profession. Which Angie says she is ready to get back to, after a year long hiatus. Ever the perfect "best friend," Brad supports Angelina all the way, reminding her that her work is an integral part of her. No wonder she calls him one of her "favorite people."

Hilton-Rihanna '08

The best satire in this year's elections probably would have to be Paris Hilton. I don't know if you saw her commercial on funnordie.com, but it featured her in her swimsuit by the pool while she propsed her energy plan. Afterwards, she went off air saying that she had to be on her way to pick up her VP pick, Rihanna. I thought that that was funny, but it also saddened me a little bit. It saddened me because Paris Hilton kinda made some sense in that commerical, a feat which honestly...is almost a statistical impossibility. You know that democracy is in shambles when Paris Hilton is making just about much sense (or even more) as two high ranking government officials. Nothing against Paris Hilton or any other celebrity. But I think she is a satire for our current political candidates. The two major contenders sound a lot like celebrities, whose proposals may have some sense but are full of generalities. If anything else, I expect both McCain and Obama to deal with the specifics and come up with more sophisticated arguments. If this year's elections is all gonna be about posturing again (as the candidates are making it to be), then maybe the WHite House really would be no worse than if Paris and Rihanna were in it.

Angelina's good words for Obama

Angelina Jolie has said recently in the vanity Fair that she has not yet decided who to vote for this year, but that Democratic nominee Barack Obama seems to align with her views. The actress said that she finds Obama's stances regarding intervention in cases of genocide and closing Guantanamo Bay as favorable. Jolie also added that "Barack Obama would be nice for [her] family.(AP)" and that the Illinois Senator happens to agree with her on some issues. This non-endorsement praise by Angelina Jolie probably won't send the McCain campaign campaign packing, but it does prove that Obama has really taken the country by storm. Is that enough reason to elect him? Well, I leave that up to you. My political beliefs need not be exposed here. All I hope is tha people won't vote for anyone based on personality and media-savvy. Both McCain and Obama have something going for them in terms of character and charisma, but the whole election boils down to whether any of them has the right solutions for the country. And just like Ms. Jolie, I've yet to give my support to either Obama or McCain. And I will remain undecided until either of them set aside political rhetoric and actually propose solid solutions.

Britney Spears' New Perfume

Britney Spears has done it again! Her new perfume will be hitting the stores on January 2009. The scent as described in a press release as being "all about expressing the many, mysterious sides of a woman." Which sounds beautiful, sophisticating and pretty exciting.

Will this be a success? Well her original perfume, Curious, earned $100 million in sales in the five weeks after its 2004 release. But now with her reputation sliding, it might not do as well. However, in television ad, Spears, will appear through trees in a forest and ask, "What do you have to hide?" So this may be a great booster for Britney.

Britney is entering the industry again with a strong and with a positive outlook. The singer has been hard at work on her next album, Circus, which will be available on December 2.

Movies to Watch!

Staying home this weekend? Well, we have the perfect movies you have to watch. So such grab you popcorn and cuddle up next to your television and enjoy!

CITY OF EMBER
Even though this movie was based on a best-selling young-adult novel, it's surprisingly dark. Literally. The film is about an underground city, aptly called Ember, and its failing power source, which threatens to throw the town into complete darkness.

BODY OF LIES
Ridley Scott directed this film about a talented undercover CIA agent who grows disaffected with American foreign policy. The film features plenty of plot twists, way cool explosions, and Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe getting in each other's faces.

THE EXPRESS
This true life sports drama tackles the story of Syracuse University star football player Ernie Davis, the first African-American to win the coveted Heisman trophy.

QUARANTINE
If you liked the diseased crazies of "28 Days Later" and the nausea-inducing camera work of "Cloverfield," you'll probably dig "Quarantine." Based on Spanish horror film "REC", the movie is about a luckless camera crew looking to shoot a human-interest piece on firefighters who winds up sealed in a site infected with rabid maniacs.

Disney's New Princesses

As you all know, Camp Rock, Hanna Montana, Wizards of Wavery Place has gone sky high with ratings that preview on the Disney Channel. On Hanna Montana, isn't there a episode with a feud between Hanna and Mikayla (played by Selena Gomez)? Does anyone really think that they really do not like each other in real life? I know it's pretty cliche of me to talk about the disney channel, but you have to admit that they are kind of taking over! haha I think that out of all the talent, Demi Lovato has the most talent. Hanna Montana is in my opinion, cocky. She isn't good whatsoever. I just hope that she knows that, but i think she's using her dad's fame to an advantage! That's what I think. Selena Gomez is pretty much best friends with Demi Lavato. I think Hanna Montana is pretty much on everyone's bad side.
I found this on TMz, thinking it was quite funny. Just because they show smiles but what happens after the camera is done shooting? haha just something i always found curious.

Sonic Unleashed

The trill and excitement a child or even adult had when playing the original Sonic game was priceless. Sonic the Hedgehog made his debut on the Sega Genesis in 1991. Sonic became one of the world's best-known video game characters, with his series having sold 45 million copies. The great success came from the fun and humorous battles that reached to many people's hearts.

The Sonic legacy continued and in the next year Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was released. With a sidekick introduced, it out sold the first release. Then in 1998 Sonic became the first to take place in a fully 3D world, aping the achievements of Mario 64 two years earlier, and it was the first to feature a full voice cast.

Sonic did fall in 2003 when the critics disliked the effects and plot. Society was shifting to a different stage considering the new hit games were Grand Theft Auto and Halo. So as a result, Sonic introducing Shadow the Hedgehog in 2005. It failed miserably. The new Hedgehog swore, used guns, well the complete opposite to Sonic. The public wasn't a fan of the change and completely ignored it.

Realizing their big mistake, Sega turned to the more friendlier side and team up with Mario for a friendly competition at the the Beijing Olympics.

Out this year, Sonic Chronicles sees noted Knights of the Old Republic, which is a real new departure for the series. Sonic the Hedgehog has gone through many changes, but the adventures and trill is certainly worthwhile.

Oasis??

Now a days, if you ask someone here in the states who Oasis are they would just look at you with a black face; however, in Britain, it's a totally different story. Oasis started in the 90s releasing great hits and slamming the charts with amazing Anglo anthems. U.S. top 10 hit "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova" practically made them the Biggest Band of the Planet. They were known everywhere, but then out of the blue they disappeared.

What happened to them? Sadly, Britpop never quite took off here in the States. Spin magazine declared Teenage Fanclub's Bandwagonesque the top album of 1991, but a little American-made album called Nevermind stole all its thunder. Other British bands caught up with legal problems and so nowadays the only real British-band success story in America, is Coldplay.

But Oasis probably don't care, as they're still one of Biggest Bands On The Planet. They've sold more than 50 million records worldwide; have racked up eight number-one singles in Britain; and have won 15 NME Awards, five Brit Awards, and nine Q Awards. Their 2005 album Don't Believe The Truth was their most successful and critically heralded in years, and their seventh studio album Dig Out Your Soul is garnering similarly high praise.

Even though Oasis had its rough times, their music and souls will live forever.

Weekend Box Office

It was a surprising weekend for the box office. Previous weeks number one went to Eagle Eye starring Shia LaBeouf was expected to take the top spot again this weekend. But a little doggy must have swept him off his feet cause the family movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua took in $29 million making it number 1 this weekend. Eagle Eye took in $17.7 million this weekend making it number 2. Rounding out the top three is the Michael Cera hipster, teen, rom-com flick Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist with $11.6 million in ticket sales. Kirsten Dunst's movie did HORRIBLY this weekend. Her new film, How To Alienate Friends opened in wide release this weekend and played to pretty much empty theaters. Drunkst's movie made a paltry $1.4 million!!! That's horrible for the movie business. Maybe if they would have done a better job advertising it more people would have known that it was coming and perhaps gone to see it.

Veep debates draw attention

Let me talk a little bit about the recent Vice Presidential debates. OK I know, I know you're asking: what is a commentary on politics doing in an entertainment blog? Well why not? At least since the TV became a staple in America's culture, politics and the show business has been very closely intertwined. Celebrities and politicians draw rating alike, with the more media savvy ones getting the love from the viewers.

Just recently, we had Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska and Senator Joe Biden of Delaware duke it out onstage. It was one of the most watched VP debates in history and as a political junkie I can see why. With a significant portion of the population believing our nation to be in trouble, I expect folks to be concerned about the plans of their next leaders. Another reason for all the excitement though probably has to do with the backgrounds of Gov. Palin and Sen. Biden. Palin, a greenhorn in national politics, has been drawing curiosity among many people. Biden, meanwhile, who has been dubbed the "gaffe machine" is known for his fiery tongue and no-BS straight talk.

Both Biden and Palin stood their ground, although Biden's experience made him a clear winner. To Palin's credit, however, I agree with CNN's assessment that she has "lived naother day". She carried herself well and was very poised, but stopped short of actually making a significant change in public opinion, which ahs been favoring the Obama-Biden ticket.

Nonetheless, it was a good debate (though with less fireworks than I expected), and I hope that Americans would be better educated to vote this November.

Ice Cube's sensitizing new music vid

Ice Cube recently released a video of his song "Why Me?", which featured the family of a 17 year old teen who was murdered near his home. The boy,Jamiel Shaw Jr., was said to be a football player in high school who was on his way to college with a scholarship. Shaw's promising future seems to be the salt to the injury. An illegal immigrant gang member named Pedro Espinoza is said to be the suspect in Shaw's death, although he has pleaded not guilty. Reports said that Espinoza had killed Shaw after "asking him about his gang affiliation." AP reported that Shaw did not belong to any gangs.

Ice Cube decided to put Shaw's real family instead of "a bunch of actors" to get his point across. He said that he finds gun violence murders very "tragic" and "ugly". But while Shaw's family is pushing for the passage of "Jamiel's Law", which would crack down on illegal immigrants in gangs, the rapper said that his music video was not endorising such measure.

"You've got a person being killed by a person he don't know for a reason he don't know ... Who cares if it was an immigrant or if it was a taxpaying citizen?" Ice Cube said in an AP article.

Heather Locklear Arrested!

What is up with all of these stars getting arrested lately? Is there something bad going around in the water or what? Heather Locklear was arrested Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or medication in the Santa Barbara area of California. According to the LA Times, it was a concerned citizen who kept an allegedly impaired Heather off the streets. The unnamed citizen called 911 to report that a woman, who turned out to be Locklear, was driving erratically. Said citizen told cops that she saw a woman who was visibly impaired getting into a car in a parking lot at about 4:30 that afternoon.

Heather apparently went on to drive back and forth over a pair of sunglasses on the pavement and revving her engine. After leaving the parking lot, the former Melrose Place star then stopped her car on the street and stumbled into the traffic lane, according to the caller, who then proceed to follow the troubled star out of concern. By the time the California Highway Patrol caught up with Heather, she was parked on a highway lane and blocking traffic. An officer who talked to her determined that she was disoriented and "under the influence of something." She was then whisked away to police headquarters and tested for alcohol and drugs. The alcohol test came back negative. Her drug tests will be returned in a few days.

Even Stevens Arrested

So I'm sure that when you were growing up, you remember watching the Disney Channel right? The star of Even Stevens, who is Shia Lebeouf, was arrested for allegedly being drunk in Chicago around last year. There was a $1000 bench warrant for Shia because he failed to appear in court. After Even Stevens, Shia knew that this wasn't the end of his career. Admit it, we all thought he was dorky and immature in the show. And we couldn't even find him attractive. But now, the rising star is all grown up. He is now 21 years old and is BARELY STARTING his new career. He became the star of Transformers with Megan Fox. And since then he has been in Indiana Jones. Let's face it, he's not a kid no more. In fact, he became more attractive than ever. I think that he's just a 21 year old who wants to party a little. People make this kind of mistake all the time. But since he's a star, people and TMz are all over him.

“Work is important to me and I treat it important and it’s been good to me,” LaBeouf previously told Access. “It’s like one of the best relationships I’ve had with anything. It’s been really good to my family so you gotta be good to it. Perception sometimes is more important than performance. If people perceive you as a good actor then they’ll wish for you to be a good actor and they’ll root for you when they watch you but if you come out and you’re going to clubs every night and people don’t root for you anymore.”

In some other really good news, The CW has decided to pick up the show for another full season, yay!! “The successful addition of 90210 has taken The CW another step forward in building a cohesive schedule that defines this network as a destination for young women with shows that get our audience talking — and watching,” said Dawn Ostroff, President of Entertainment for The CW on Monday. “We’re very excited about the chance to watch this ensemble of newcomers and familiar faces coalesce and grow together as we move forward.” Although it is really early in the season for them to pick up another episode, we cant help but feel excited!!

Plane crash injures DJ AM and Travis Barker, kills six others

South Carolina got a taste of some stars in their state, but in the most unfortunate of ways. Former Blink 182 drummer and DJ AM were both injured in a plane crash that killed six others with them, including pilots Sarah Lemmon and James Bland, and Barker's friends Chris Baker and Charles Still. The flight was on its way back to Van Nuys airport in California before it crashed just moments after it took off from the South Carolina Airport. Air traffic controllers who were observing the plane said that they saw "sparks" as it took off before finally going off track and slamming into a grassy area beside the airport runway. The owner of the plane, Global Exec Aviation, has said that it is already planning to dispatch a group to South Carolina to coordinate the with National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration. One of the pilots of the plane who were killed, James Bland, has worked for Laguna Beach and Santa Ana, Calif. police forces and had a stint as a helicopter operator for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

SOMETHING YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK OUT: Lords of Dogtown

High-profile directors get turned away

Los Angeles Times reported that Universal Pictures rejected acclaimed directors Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson's requests to finance their new film, Tintin. The Belgian comic book-based movie has a whopping price tag of $130 million, an amount even topnotch studios are quite wary to shell out in an unstable economy. This rejection was a news maker particularly because high-profile directors do not usually get turned down under normal economic circumstances. This only highlights how the country's financial crisis has spilled beyond businesses in Wall Street. Universal Pictures executives are still studying whether Tintin would be profitable in the current market, especially because Jackson and Spielberg are demanding a relatively huge cut of the film revenues "without putting up any of the capital themselves. (Elier 2008)" In addition, Tintin is quite unknown to most Americans, despite its acclamation in Belgium. Tintin is a longtime pet project of Spielberg and he intends to make it into a trilogy series, which he will direct along with Peter Jackson. He has been working on the film with Paramount for a number of years now, but all the progress could go to waste without Universal Pictures helping Paramount to pick up the tab for production. If the studio changes its mind, however, Spielberg said that he is ready to shoot as early as next month.

Kanye Under Arrested???

Could this possibly be? Kanye West was attacked by paparazzi and basically defended himself by resisting. Now, he's arrested for that? I don't think he looks like a bad guy at all. I'm not famous but I sure wouldn't know how to handle a situation where people are attacking you for pictures like that. You never know if Kanye just got tired of it, or it was just early in the morning. Supposedly Kanye didn't want to take a picture for Erik (the paparazzi) and it got on tape. After Kanye found out that he got caught on tape with that, he lunged toward him and said, "Give me the fucking videotape." I really don't think Kanye is a bad person, he's still a dope rapper in my eyes! haha

“Mr. West was arrested at 7:51 a.m. outside the passenger screening area by airport police on charges of vandalism. Initial reports say this incident involved a paparazzo and a camera valued at more than $10,000. In addition, Mr. West’s road manager was arrested for vandalism and battery. Several witnesses are being interviewed by police. West and his manager are being transported to an LAPD station where they’re expected to be booked.”
